I have Win7 RC as a dual-boot with XP Pro on my main desktop pc. I don't want to buy Win7 and have kept using XP as my daily OS all this time. I don't mind reformatting to get rid of the RC, but does anyone know if the 2-hour automatic reboots starting on 3/01/10 will still happen if I'm booted on the XP side, or only if booted into Win 7 RC?
This would allow me more time to do the reformat/XP reinstall, otherwise I'll need to do it this weekend. I can search/post on one of the MS forums but just wondered if someone here happens to know. TIA for any info...

The two hour reboots should only bother you while you're running 7. XP shouldn't be effected at all here.
Thing is, why do you wanna run back to XP? I could understand if you can't afford it right now, but 7 has been such a smooth experience for me, I don't think I could force myself back even if I had to.

Thanks, Renzatic .. I didn't think the XP side would be affected but wasn't sure. I also posted on TechNet in the meantime and was told the same thing.
I'll probably get Win7 at some point but am very happy with XP Pro for now. Glad to hear you're enjoying Win7, though. Luckily all my Thief stuff is on another partition, so when I do reinstalls I only need to make new shortcuts and I'm good to go!
