Hey guys,
I need your help in getting T2 to work on my new MSI-S6000 laptop with Win 7.
After installing T2, Garrettloader 1.41, broken t2 cd , and so on when launching an FM absolutely nothing happens. No error signs or anything. I know I have to turn off the other processors in Task Manager, but the process 'Thief2.exe' does not even show up after launching an FM. The start screen won't pop up. :confused:
I installed the ddfix and the patch for widescreen, yet nothing happens anyway :(
Also tried running garretloader as 'Administrator' & nothing...

The first thing I would want to ask is: Where did you install the programs? If you installed them in the "Program Files" folder, then that could be the problem. Thief and Garrettloader both need to be installed in a different folder. For example: C:\Games\Thief2 and C:\Games\Garrettloader.

I would suggest a better fix for the dual core issue. I use imagecfg myself but there are other tools and options available. Just have a look at one of the Thief FAQ threads floating around for instructions.
What version of ddfix are you using? Newer versions of ddfix (like 1.5.11) have the widescreen patch built in and do not require a separate patch.

I don't know what that is. I am running the ddfix v.1.5.11

I always do this, incase windows dies... :erg:
I found a really good dual core fix on a site 'potter' something, don't remember the link, but it's where I got garrettloader for my vista, but last time I checked the web-site was off-line. Is it running again?
Anybody know the address?

If I remember correctly, imagecfg is the program I found at the garrettloader site, it works excellent with vista and the i5 intel core. Would you know a link where I can download it again?

If you are using ddfix 1.5.11 you shouldn't need a dual core fix. It has one built in.
Do the original Thief 2 missions work fine when running Thief 2 without GarrettLoader?
Also and very important is that ddfix 1.5.11 has the widescreen patch built in. In your first post you said you installed the widescreen patch. If you are trying to use the new ddfix (1.5.11) with the older widescreen patch that may be your problem.

T2 is installed, but removed it because of the widescreen patch with the newer version ddfix 1.5.11. Now it will not install at all.
Been trying to install it for about an hour now, but notta. The install screen pops up, tried that, but the disc just spins while setup is at 100% then it just disappears. I tried the compatibility mode with XP (service pack #2), but windows just says there's a compatibility issue when I try sending the report to Microsoft.
Also tried running it as Administrator...:confused:
I reinstalled T3 and that works fine with the dvd, but once I run Garretloader with broken CD, and install an FM, then press PLAY,it jumps to the tab 'Finish, Score, Review'
and nothing else happens...???
I removed T3 and reinstalled it again and patch 1.1, widescreen patches 1 & 2 and now FM's work fine with the dvd in the drive. Playing 'Furious Flames', oddly when I tried 'Rose Cottage' it said it couldn't figure out if it was a T2 game and clicking on NO would try it on T1 ??
I guess it was dumb to try with 'The Cabal' since it keeps crashing all the time! Going to see if there is anything else I can try with T3...

Try tafferpatcher for Thief 2. It should be able to install then.
I don't understand, are you trying to run Thief 2 FM's like Rose Cottage with Thief 3? You can't do that. Rose Cottage is made for Thief 2.

i had that pop up on several FMs and just selected yes.

I installed T2 with TafferPatcherand the original game worked fine, but when I try to play an FM it freezes on the New Game/Load Game screen :confused:
