I still can't understand this, but it's nice to see people don't stereotypize Windowses as much anymore I guess

What do you mean? The whole "Windows crashes all of the time stigma" from the Win 9x days?
God, W2K/XP were a massive improvement over those loads of bollocks. Sure, we couldn't play several older DOS games for years, but these days Dosbox will run virtually any title with framerates as smooth as butter on a modern CPU (ie Intel Core 2 Duo).

Looks like I can completely skip putting Vista on my main 'puter and just wait for this one.

Well, I bought Vista. And I have a horrible feeling that tech support might now turn into a big 'buy windows 7, that'll fix... whatever it is!' button.

Hey, Win 98SE was excellent... but yeah.

I used Win98SE for years. Great OS for its time, though I really do prefer XP, at least when I can get DOS programs to work.

Wait, why does it suddenly cost two hundred dollars again. Are you buying some kind of limited collector's edition with a soundtrack, artbook and locks of Gates' hair included?

Given the level of excitement for this, I might hold some sort of TTLG Windows 7 giveaway when the thing comes out. We'll see how my personal finances are doing at the time (not so hot right now given that I just lost my wallet).

Can you re-enable text in the taskbar? I am incapable of identifying anything visually.

Yup. I can't give you exact directions at the moment, but the option is up front in your taskbar settings.

Cuz those neat plastic boxes cost money...or because they can. Whichever you prefer.
Truthfully, $150 ain't horrible. I'd be happier if it were in the $80-100 range, sure. But for what you get and how long you use it, it isn't a terrible investment.
Plus I'm about to plunk down $800 on 3D crap. $200 isn't even making me bat an eye.
