Does any one have any information about running the UUW series under Windows 2000?
I Would run the boot disk dos route except that the hard drive is NTFS so the hard drive would not be accessible.
Running through ebay right now for an old school 486 with sound and hard drive.
...........
Thanks

I can run it, but not with sound.

Could you give me some information on how you did that?

It seems to me that I just created a shortcut and ran it. As long as all the sound was turned off in-game, it worked.

uw1 or uw2 ???
running either under win2k gives ems errors
so exactly how did you get it to run
& was it win2k or win2k +sp1 or sp2 ?

There's some soft which permit you to read a NTFS partition through Win9x

That fix involves right clicking the icon you need to run it and choosing properties, then going to the memory tab and giving it enough EMS memory. It will then create a MSDOS/PIF shortcut you can run that will use those settings.
That doesn't work for me though.
Thinking it *might* be the abandonware version I have as the executable has been renamed and such.
If someone can point me at a site from where I might obtain another copy I would be very grateful. Just a general direction as it were.
=) Manual would help too.

Yeah
Though I don't have the ability to install 9x, though that same software has a DOS part as well.
Only thing that comes up is that it can not write to a DOS partition which is kinda important while it's running.
If I knew how (and if possible), I'd make a DOS boot disk and a RAM disk and install the whole freaking thing to that, but I'd end up with the problem of not being able to save a game.
After going around in my head the idea of getting another hard drive and on and on I just went and bought this off ebay: (

From what I remember of the game, this should take good care of me as well as let me finally get into the old school Ultima games.
