...but they will charge you monthly for Office, and Onedrive.
A good reason to keep using your old software if you have it

I actually like Office 365. Unlimited online storage for $10, and Office for free as long as I remain subscribed. It's pretty handy.
Though I will say this. If MS does do the unthinkable, and goes sub only for Windows, then we'll see Eva's worst fears come to pass, and the year of the Linux desktop will finally be upon us. I think I already said this previously, but there's a difference between paying monthly to use a program, and paying monthly to be able to use your computer. People won't tolerate the latter. I know I wouldn't.

A huge problem is that Windows 10 does not work with either after market Dark Loader or FM SEL.
What does "after market" mean in this context?
I've been running Windows 10 for a month now. Thief Gold and Thief2 have been running perfectly through FMSel.
Having seen your post I've tried them via DarkLoader. Thief Gold 1.37 runs OK as does Thief2 1.18.
I'm not going to bother trying the 1.23 versions via DarkLoader because of the way it messes about ("optimizes") the installations.
I don't think Windows 10 is your problem but suspect that DarkLoader did some damage.

I may have used the wrong wording. This meant basically that the FM's, Darkloader and FMsel are made by game editors and not Looking Glass Studios all though... They are supported because, why would the include a game editor with the original games? I can load the Original Games but I can not load any FM's. Example Darkloader and FMsel will load the Mission but when I start the mission it hangs up and Windows pop up say there is a problem. I gave up and restored Windows 7 thinking that would correct the problem. Now Windows 7 has been corrupted by the Windows 10 install because I still can't get Darkloader or FMsel to work. They were working perfectly before I upgraded. I am back on Windows 10 just to play with before going back to Windows 7. My 30 days are almost up. Some of the basic apps such as my camera, windows store etc. don't work correctly. I have to reset Windows 10 on a daily basis to get them to work. It is a total pain in the ass.

Not only that, but they will also try to find any fault they can in competing products to highlight, even if what Apple does is worse.

Then there's this: (

The user tracking stuff that's included in Windows 10 is being added as features to Win 7/8. Unlike Windows 10, though, you can decide not to install these.

Bonus: the description for each of these within Windows Update itself is the usual "this fixes issues within Windows."

I got my DarkLoader and FMsel to work after upgrading to 1.23. I still have to reconfigure my filing system as I a have about 1,000 FMs to put in one file to get it organized. Taffer patcher would probably would have fixed it too.
One that note I am somewhat satisfied. I think Windows 8 users will really like Windows 10. Many Window 7 users won't like the scroll bar and the desktop layout but like me they could get used to it. The concept of "apps" for everything is a little weird.
