Btw, anyone looking for Thief on the cheap, Gamefly is offering it for $33.75 right now.
Thank you so much. I just cancelled my amazon order, and bought it on Gamefly. This gives me a much better feeling with regard to the recent events, and for now I let go of my wish for a physical copy. A lot of money saved, but still getting it to play on day one, yes. :D

Even 19.5 EUR is suddenly starting to look like a lot of money for this game but it's a physical disk preorder and I don't want to be a prick and make phonecalls and cancel it.

I will never pre-order another non-indie game again. Uber-entertainment still owe me $40 for their $70 over priced pre-alpha. The game is in mid beta, the game is still extremely unstable, the gameplay is terrible, the main mechanic is absolutely horrible, and there is no way to lose without completely giving up -- that is, as long as there is another planet.

You'll never pre-order a game again because you bought an early access game (an indie one, nonetheless) that was in alpha at a premium price and don't feel you got value for it. Makes sense.

Why preorder a game that's likely to hit the under-$20 pricepoint before April? Anyone wanna start taking bets?

I seem to remember Hitman Absolution's price dropped to $24 very fast.

Wow, the fact that you consider a drop from 60bux down to 34bux as being "on the cheap" says a lot! After what I have seen of this game, compared with ALL the bs they said about "respecting" the dna? of Thief, and the fact that many people in this world dont have a disposable 34bux! to drop on a travesty, no a mockery of a series they love. 5bux would be, "on the cheap", and even then... I would rather have that 2 gallons of milk for the kids.

Don't be daft. :erg: 34 bucks is considerably cheaper than 60 bucks, that's pretty simple mathematics for you.

By "on the cheap" I meant relative to other current pricing. $34 is very cheap for a brand new, AAA game. I wasn't factoring in the quality of the game, or whether you personally can afford to buy groceries for your children. For me, it's just a night out at the pub, so no big deal.
