Goddammit Sycamour, what have you done?!
I just pre-ordered that limited edition metal case thingy.
Which means that I'm now officially looking forward to this game.
I suppose I'm gonna have to finally install Win 7 on my computer now...
I can't wait! \:D/
Hmm... actually, I can. I'm not that excited. :p

If Sluggs is hired by EM to create "Bestest DLC", I'll instabuy! Hell, I'd even preorder!

I am just curious Brother Tomi, from which operating system will you upgrading to Win 7?

Still using Windows XP here, bro. I haven't had any problems with it, but I suppose I need to get on with the times.

Same here, but dont get me wrong. To anyone who thinks Im just some looney toons trapped in the past, I have used Win7 and Win8 plenty. My wife even has Vista still on her laptop. The kid has a Win8 laptop which I successfully installed Might Magic 1-8, All the Ultimas, and both Thiefs. Just to see if they would install and play. I still use my WinXP system though, because its an honest to goodness desktop with classic crt, perfect for Thief and even, yes, the other classics.

Intentionally using inferior quality equipment is definitely not weird at all.
Is this the real reason you're so upset about Thief? It doesn't support 800x600 monitors OR run on an OS that's been obsolete for 5+ years?
skacky on 17/2/2014 at 01:30
Weird for you, perhaps. I'm still using turntables to listen to my music, and I don't find that weird at all. Some film directors and some musicians also use older devices/instruments.

Yeah, when there is a point to it.

I can definitely understand someone's preference for CRTs and that doesn't strike me as useless. From my personal experience with monitors, the image on a CRT monitor is very different than the image on modern monitors. Heck, I have two recent monitors next to each other, one I bought two months ago, and another one that is three years old and even then the image is not the same, with the older monitor being darker overall.
To me it's the same as people who prefer to play older games in software mode.

I've seen several people talk about using old CRTs for Thief, mainly because the black levels are better than on most LEDs/LCDs. I don't think that's strange at all. And as far as the OS - who gives a rip what you use, as long as it works for what you need it to do.
