I'm wary enough of pre-orders that I have no problems waiting until after a game is released so that I can watch enough of playthroughs to my heart's content that I learn all I need to know about how the game plays.
There's a few games I bought just on the strength of watching playthroughs that I didn't even think of before (this is how I got into the Paradox games), and some I previously wanted that I decided not to buy for the same reason (some of the Hitmans & Assassins Creeds). It's a special game that I get on the strength of something else, Dishonored being the latest example (Purah & Digi working on it were pretty much all I needed to know).

That greenmangaming 30% off coupon deal expires today, if I'd understood it correctly. If if I were to preorder it'd have to be today. Haven't made my mind up, but there's still time! There's still time to make a horrible mistake! WHAT AM I GOING TO DO? EVEN I DONT KNOW! THE EXCITEMENT IS UNBEARABLE!

Which 30% off?
I had a look at GMG and Steam and I'm tempted to pre-order it just to get the bank mission actually. It's really cheap for a "AAA" game over here. GTAV was £50, as was The Last Of Us. I know it's on PC and not PS3 but still... £27 isn't a lot for a new game.

I pre-ordered through GMG already, the 30% coupon that was emailed to me expired on 1/24, but maybe there was an offer after that. You had to be on their mailing list to get it. Anyway, it comes out to 33 bucks, so pretty damn cheap for a major release like this.

As far as I can tell there are no active coupons on GMG, which is weird because there's almost always a 20%-30% off promotion happening.

Here's a Greenman voucher that is valid through the weekend (-25% Thief / Elder Scrolls Online):

Getting on their mailing list is highly recommended. They are easily the best place to buy new releases on PC right now.

Thanks. Has anyone preordered Steamworks stuff from them before? Just curious if they send you a key immediately, or if they wait until release day.

I've purchased about 10 steam keys from them. Usually the code would get e-mailed a day or two before release (it also appears in your GMG game list). Although this was how it was about a year ago. I haven't been purchasing a lot of new games lately so the procedure could be different now.

Someone should create an online service that sells recently released games plus their pre-removed content with a discount that lowers the price of the full game to the actual normal price of a full game. So you could make an educated purchase decision, but still get the full product, when normally you could only get the full content if you don't know what you're buying.
Though it would be difficult to make a profit that way. It would be popular though. The only reason why pre-removed DLC content exists is to disincetivize finding out whether the product is good or not because they know it isn't good enough. Kinda ironic how in order to wait and find out whether a game is worth your money or not, you need to pay extra for it. -Which in the end can end up tilting the scale to "not worth it" because of the price increase.
