Fair shout and good point.

I've already paid my deposit at EB Games.

Whoa, really? Why? Forgive me, but that seems a bit pointless, if not risky as hell.

If it gets good reviews from places I trust I'll get it.
And if I like it enough I'll buy an extra copy for each person on here who refuses to buy it (so they make the sales they should - I won't actually give you the copies, except of course jtr would definitely get a copy) because of some simple minded reason like waaahhh no SR.
And an extra copy for jtr so he can frame one.
Sadist. :p
I won't buy a game on 'good reviews' because my tastes may run quite contrary to 'popular opinion'; CoD is a case-in-point - just not my cuppa. I refuse to spend that kind of money on any game until I know more about it: seeing a gameplay demo, deciding if the plot is something that can capture and hold my interest, seeing screenshots, etc. So, no, I won't buy a game just because it gets good reviews or because five people on the forums said it was a good game.
And SE: don't buy one 'for' me - my old recluse gamer friend is already intending on buying T4 (self-proclaimed masochist that he is) and if I feel inclined to try the game out I know he'll loan me his copy. Unless he ends up hating it (which he claims he already does), then he'll just give the game to me with a note instructing me to burn it after I'm through punishing myself (as he did with TDS). ;)

Definitely far more inclined to watch the disaster the game will be then play it myself at this point... I just can't imagine what else they are going to mess up next, but time will tell huh? E3 is my bet.
Exactly what antihero276 said. But I will never buy it if I will be forced to subscribe to Steam. Which will probably happen.

Agreed Lady R. However Steam isn't such a bad thing, imo. In quite a few cases I was able to save money buying games on Steam that were selling for much more at places like Game Stop or Best Buy. I also like the fact that any patches/upgrades are automatically applied to the game you're playing; I've never had a Steam game crash on me.
Vivian on 17/5/2013 at 12:59
hahaa, watching you old fogies be suspicious of steam is hilarious. It's like people being frightened of online shopping. Newsflash - steam is fine.
Dia on 17/5/2013 at 13:51
Yeah, no problem with Steam here. Except when I'm having a tense moment in-game and someone interrupts with a chat message. I get a little anti-social during gameplay. :o
;)

I'm not frightened of shopping on line. And probably buying games on Steam is cheaper, I'm not against this.
I'm against the fact that you are OBLIGED to validate the game you have legally purchased in a shop on Steam, in order to being able to play it. It' like if you have rented it.
I want to be free to install the game I own at any time and in every place I happen to be, even if there is no internet connection. I don't want to have to ask Steam permission every time I want to install it.
As for patches/updates, I'm perfectly able to search for them and install them myself.

Well, that's how it is these days. It really makes little to no difference. But if you don't want to play any new games based on this principle, then your loss I guess?
