A pretty straight forward question.
This is mainly to see what separate opinions the board has by percentage. I want to see in a structured manner how people will justify what they will inevitably do once the game comes out. Of course this is all speculative at this point because your answers may change in time, but I'm curious what the general opinion is at this moment.
Back the reason for your answer with facts (or at least what we assume are facts based off of what we have seen and read). Be as descriptive as you'd like. Post a link or two if you feel it reinforces your opinion.
I know this is a particularly touchy subject and I'm inadvertently inviting arguments and shots at EM and SE, but please... just... don't.
Don't like my reason for wanting to or not wanting to buy the game? Don't try to change my mind, just leave your two cents about whether you will buy it or not and move on. IF you think you can openly disagree with someone but respond and counter them in a civilized manner (as if someone posts something that's outdated and you can correct them, or if you just debate differences of opinion in general), be my guest. Maybe we can send a message to EM with this if all goes well.

It's too early for a crucial question like that.
We should wait at least to see the gameplay video.. then i will have at least an idea of what really this game is and what to do once the game will be out.

I agree, it's a bit too soon to say for sure what we'll do down the road, but this place is full of opinions already. Someone may come along when the gameplay video comes out and post the same thread, but only to have it crumble under the weight of arguments and bickering. Opinions will be strengthened one way or another, towards loving or hating the game even more, and it'll become easy for things to get out of control when these opinions clash and have a perfectly good thread destroyed. That's not to say that can't happen in this thread, and I certainly hope it won't. I wanted to preemptively make a poll and thread built around the idea of discussing what we think we'll do thus far but with some structure. Maybe we can change our answers as time goes on to reflect everyone's thoughts.
(Mods, can poll submissions be changed? I didn't see that option :erg: )

I'll buy it only after the price comes down, and only if I know Eidos won't get my money from it, e.g. at a bargain bin or so. If I can't find it there I'll either not get it at all, or if I still find it interesting I may resort to other measures.

I voted on the fence.... not enough to determine for sure.

I'm on the fence, but I'm losing my balance and right now I'm wobbling towards the pavement. It'll take a good shove to make me fall into the garden.

I'll vote later on when I have an answer, too early now.
If I did buy it, it'd probably be because I bought the others & Dishonored and it's like making sure I get the whole set. But even then it's probably going to be after the price has come down because my backlog of games is so long even if I bought it when it came out I wouldn't get to playing it for months or over a year anyway.

I voted "On the Fence", but I'm more likely to move toward the choices at the bottom of the poll than the top of it.
If they get the gameplay extremely right, I might still buy it even though I may hate what they're doing to the Thief world. For me, a couple of concerns included in "extremely right" would mean almost no forced 3rd-person except at the very beginning or end of a mission(in other words nothing to break my immersion once I've started a thieving session), and definitely no overly "helpful" Garrett telling me how to play the game. If the game is designed around focus but is still able to be completed without using it, I'd probably be okay with that. I don't mind things that might make the game a bit more difficult.
Second only to my concerns about gameplay is what EM has done to Garrett. I very much do not like him visually which I think is going to be a big problem for me since I'm expecting a lot of cutscenes of him. I don't like EM's alteration of his personality--Garrett is not a thrill-seeking trophy hunter. Even Romano Orzari voicing him would have been more acceptable to me if EM had maintained the integrity of the character, but I'd still prefer a proper Stephen Russell Garrett. As it is, I'm unable to accept NuGarrett.
They've also generally butchered the Thief world which also chaps my ass, but if they had gotten my first two concerns right, I probably would have been willing to overlook that and just enjoy it as a "not quite right" Thief game.
Based on what I've seen and heard so far, the gameplay is going to have to be brilliant to get me to buy it. Doubt that's going to happen.

I'm between "absolutely not" and "watch on Youtube" currently. At this point, there has been nothing to convince me it's a worthy Thief game or even a good game by itself.
The overwhelming impression I get is that this will be a modern game modernized for modern audiences for maximum market penetration. Read: streamlined down to the lowest common denominator to try to meet unrealistic market projections.
Personally, I don't care if every single raindrop is simulated. I'm fine with graphics that are just good enough. Give me solid stealth mechanics and an AI that doesn't embarrass itself.
Anyway, I have too many gripes to list them all, but here are a few current ones that come to mind...
Gameplay:
-- Blink-like dashing between the shadows.
-- Sticky beams that you can't fall off.
-- Timed parkour sequences.
-- Third person climbing and takedowns.
-- Automatic sideleaning and no forward lean.
-- Focus ability for handholding and combat moves.
-- Inner monologue based directions/clues.
Thematic stuff:
-- The magic has been taken out of the series. Literally.
-- Modern swearing... taff the taffing taffers.
-- Garrett seems to be have been morphed into some kind of an edgy emoninja.
-- Absence of Stephen Russell's awesome characters.
-- Absence of Eric Brosius's awesome music.

Seems pretty much the consensus, doesn't it?
