Will Thief 2 run with a new ATI card?

My main game is Thief 2 fan missions. My old card was fried so I bought a new ATI Radeon 4650 video card. The computer is in the shop. Other games are working okay, but Thief 2 is having problems. Is there a trick to getting T2 to work right with ATI cards? Or is it just impossible.

yes, you need to download and install the DDfix patch
