Is JoWood going to release an editor for Arx anytime soon? I have been putzing around with a fan-made editor (ArxPak4), but whenever I make any real modifications to the scripts(mainly, new items), the game crashes. Minor mods work ok, but thats it.
I would like to make some new items and quests, but if I were to hack the data myself, it may not work for everyone.
So, anyone know anything?

There's an interview on the site where arxpak is hosted that I believe quotes Raf as saying basically that there would be no editor released because they (Arkane) licensed at least part of it, and so can't distribute it publicly.

We'll probably release the tools we made ourself, but the 3DS importers will have to be made by somebody else :)

Are you allowed to give hints as to the data stuctures in the .ftl and .tea files? I am wanting to copy an object(a ring) into a new game directory tree so I can get my new ring to display in 3D(and not crash Arx). I suspect the crashing is because the name present in the .ftl file dosen't jive with it's new location, but I cant just drop in a new name due to the offsets being wrong then.
Hex editing is fun, yes, but it is rather hit and miss... :)

Ahhhh, I doubt anyone'll have an issue with that; it's the same deal as with most other editors. I think it's safe to say that we're all very relieved and enthused that we'll get our hands on the Arx editor, though ;)
