I suspect more RAM will be your biggest "bang for your buck", so to speak, if you decide to upgrade.

It should run better than my PC, at least until Christmass, i am getting a 1.7 ghz Athlon with POSSIBLY a g force 4. NOW though, im running a pentium 3 450 with 2 something hundred meg of ram. 4 frames a second? PRICELESS

- windows 98 The best thing to do would be to upgrade that processor. My Duron 800/GF2 MX/256MB RAM ran it pretty well at 800 x 600 resolution. A faster processor really helps with loading times between areas!
A new intel processor will most likely cost the same as a cheap socket A board ad a Duron 1.2Ghz. Get that instead (<£100).
Your Radeon 7500 is fine for this game, it is basically the equivalent toa GF2 Ultra, which is still a pretty good card. ;)
