Shellac, drop that patronising know-it-all tone, stop assuming things about people you don't know and speak English. Maybe then you'll find somebody who takes you seriously.
You are flattering your own ego by thinking everyone else on the net was using it as harmless fun and we're all too timid to have our beliefs challenged by your postings.
Now here's a challenge for your own mental stability: What if most of the people on this forum were actually intelligent adults who are quite capable to pick and compare their sources of information without your help?
And what if you were just interpreting every opinion that doesn't agree with yours as vapid and uninformed? That would serve your own beliefs and high self-esteem quite well, wouldn't it? It would also explain why others perceive you as a nut.
Now quick, brush off that thought, it's too challenging for you I fear. Because that would mean insecurity and the need for new orientation. Instead rest safely in the knowledge that (
http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/sheeple.png) you are the only thinking and feeling person on the internet.

What's really noticable in this thread is the knee jerk reaction when somebody proposes a view that doesn't go conform with "the widely accepted facts" and "what's on TV". People
immediately shout "conspiracy nut!".
Ofcourse there is really weird stuff like:
-"ufos flew into the world trade center!"
-"the oil spill will cause the whole american continent to sink!!" etc.
These can be called
desinformation, the purpose is to ridicule and thin out the facts, and thereby turn off people with "common sense" from dealing with such topics at all.
Applied in repetitive patterns over time this has the effect of conditioning, also called brainwashing.
It's mass psychology, no less: everyone has their beliefs and views, and these are important for their mental stability. Nobody really likes to have these beliefs challenged, because that would mean insecurity and the need for new orientation.
It also works awesomely over the internet, which most users see as harmless fun (and not as a possibility of objective information), and where someone proposing dissenting viewpoints can be quickly and conveniently brushed off as a troll or conspiracy nut or someone who has the nerve to teach others.
What people fail to see is they can live in denial only for as long as the facts don't affect their lives directly, but sooner or later, maybe even around ten corners,
they will.
The "conspiracy blogs" are some of the few possibilities left (to people who haven't given up thinking for themselves) for free information. And as mentioned above there's alot of fantastic and obscure stuff (desinformation), which makes things harder and more time consuming.
Don't you wonder why so many countries regulate and control the internet, or atleast strongly try to do so? Ofcourse they say it's for a greater good, i.e. to stop child pornography (germany), but these laws are so "elastic", they can and will be expanded anytime and applied to the liking of those in power. To shut off adverse and inconvenient opinions, sites, discussions, groups.
I wouldn't be surprised if the pipileaks incident would be used once again as cause to call "for more control over the internet, so such incidents won't happen again, which endager
our security and peace,
our way of life!".
"Free press is the freedom of 200 rich people to publish their agenda" -Paul Sethe, co-founder of the „Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung“, 1965
Everybody knows it was the cats conspiracy ring to dominate the earth with purring and masses of warm fur to pet to achieve human mind control and subjugation, or you didn't know?
My cats say hi, and meow!
;)
BTW stricter laws on anything will make things even more distributed across the (underground) net than they're now, there is a logic of countering every rule which humans develop naturally.
And the only way to stop horny child molesters/rapists is castration, not chemical, the real thing.
What you suggests however is akin to a 1984 state telling you what to do at every moment.
(I'm not actually saying what it recalls me out of respect for your people and your country which I have actually visited on several occasions and liked both people and country very educated and gentle mannered people).
For those people who think German is totally foreign to English (Ha! English is a derivation of German, you should be happy to actually learn the real source of your language to widen your horizons).
There is nothing wrong with reading German URLs articles once you have honed the skill.
Greater control forces a greater need for freedom, freedom is natural need of human nature.
Conspiracy theorists are just a reflection of something they actually don't know well and they shoot left, center and right with the desire of actually getting to the target, diplomacy is always going to compromise something in order to achieve their goals.
Is good that people question their establishment and social structure, but to the simpleton Joe six pack of beer, there is no need to make him/her fear a war or know the innards dealings of international politics when dealing with trying to spare the lives of hundreds or even millions of innocents just working, studying and enjoying their daily meaningless lives either they are millionaires or poor workers like our buddy Joe Six packs of beer.
That's why when something leaks out, people screams conspiracy, and they might be right, the conspiracy of power and control machine is leaving you the simpleton Joe, out of the question for a reason, Joe loses his temper and his head out of fear to know what really happens.
PS.
Sorry about the redundancy, I didn't read your post until very late in writing my own post.

Conspiracy theorists are just dissapointed, because Wikileaks hasn't revealed anything that would be near their beliefs. The annoying thing is that they clog up and misdirect conversations into uselessness.
Lots of news sources have reported that "Wikileaks attacked Mastercard servers", which I find hilarious. It's so obvious that the titles are being carefully laid out to make it seem Wikileaks is actively harming companies like that, whereas it's supporters of the organsations that do it. This is just an another example of mainstream media - I can't imagine the journalists are actually incompetent or stupid enough to misinterpret their data this way. At least some sources have done it right, BBC for one.
My money is on the various pirateparties et al for all the DDOSin of Mastercard and the like.

Close. "(

@Kuuso:
Do you realise that in one sentence you're knocking "conspiracy theorists", and in the next you're proclaiming your own conspiracy theory? Big screen material right there, thank you.:joke:
@Kolya:
You seem quite upset, I can only conclude that my post must have hit a nerve. By the way, a few posts back you were the one who was asking for a civilised mature discussion. Now you resort to twisting of words, and low level attacks:

Hmm there's "Member" below your name and not "Supreme Entity". Since when are you speaking for everybody here?
You also tried to give weight to your statements going "Hay guys, MY mum spoke to the editor of DER SPIEGEL, one of germany's biggest news magazines, and that's what he said!!". And finally showing off your intellectual capacity by posting teh funney pic is just the icing on the cake.
But nevermind, (

Shellac, I don't think you're coming across too well.

Maybe we should build a wall between the two.
