Or, more likely, you can't destroy a turret without cooking off the ammunition. That's what destroys it in the first place.

I see, so banging on the outside of it with a wrench will generate enough heat on the inside to set off the ammunition?
Bjossi on 5/12/2007 at 11:52
Exactly.
D'Arcy on 5/12/2007 at 11:56
And exactly what ammunition are we talking about in the case of laser turrets?
Trance on 5/12/2007 at 12:19
Oh, you know how dangerous those lead-acid batteries are....
ZylonBane on 5/12/2007 at 15:54
And don't forget the highly charged banks of capacitors!

And whatever happened to the SHTUP turret? ;)
ZylonBane on 5/12/2007 at 17:23
Stalled by the failure of BIN2E to produce a non-mangled version of the model.

A simple enough matter to repair it, but getting it to go back through the .3ds -> .bin process without a screenful of unsolveable atomic split errors is another matter entirely.

If I remember correctly, There's a log from Bronson talking about how she sent a team to recall the turrets to storage. The things must be portable, that's why they look like that. The things are designed to be moved around and planted down, that's why their design is modular.
As for them exploding... well.....
