I count one spelling error and several grammatical errors in that post, and one person being an asshole about stupi grammar mistakes.
Quick question sirs, that both myself and everyone I've asked is too ignorant to answer: why would racist tea partiers, who are known for hating black people, elect Allen West?

Because they thought he played Batman? Seriously, even racist rednecks understand the concept of camoflauge.

Washington had three tax initiatives on the ballot (one of which was the passage of California-style gridlock).
Oh god, I completely forgot about that. There goes the neighborhood.

Well, it's kinda true. You ARE the asshole.
I mean, even in that post, there's this smug level of "gotcha" that is completely oblivious to the actual facts of the question you're asking, almost reveling in the strawmannishness of your question. You see things in this stupidly simple shade of black and white that renders your protestations of your ignorance completely ineffectual.
And the answer is simple, you stupid fuck, it's because nobody ever said that Tea Partiers are *all* racist.
Is a large subset of the Tea Party motivated by racism against Obama? You'd have to be an idiot to think otherwise, but that's a different question, surely even someone as thick as yourself can see that.
But probably not. So feel free to persist with your relentless ignorance and carry on being an asshole.

The problem with the "tea partiers are racists" argument is that it is a negative-proof argument. Does anyone have any evidence that the majority are motivated simply by race and not economic hardship?

Dude, seriously. Seriously. I fear I used to be like you, and there's no talking you out of it. Hopefully you meet some normal people in real life and wake up to what's going on around you. Your myopia is staggering, but so was mine. I bet you're a nice guy and I hope someday you figure it out.

And the problem with you is that you can't realize that that is NOT the argument.
CCCToad on 8/11/2010 at 05:40
Now that neither you or nobody else has shown any substantive evidence (statistical or anecdotal) that the majority of tea party people are racist, it definitely isn't the argument anymore.
Well, except me, I freely admit that

Here's a few anecdotes - both my in-laws and parents have wistfully told me that they wish the Inquisition could be re-enacted (this, in reference to Muslims "taking over the country)". They both admit that it's probably good for Obama to have won in 2008 because "now we can at least say that we've let one of them be president." Every Tea Party supporter I've conversed with in the last year (and that's A LOT - I live in Arkansas) refer to blacks, Mexicans, Asians, and Arabics as "them," or "they." A few have told me that "they" can't help it - it's genetic (whaterverthefuck "it" is). They make racist jokes about Obama. They assume all Mexicans are illegal, yet have no qualms about hiring them as yard guys, pool boys, or eating at their restaurants.
Here's the thing - if you don't see the underlying "OMG Black President" and "OMG Mosques in Amurica" thing that's going on in the Tea Party, I doubt anyone can convince you of it. I suspect the reason you don't see it is because a) you don't want to or b) it wouldn't bother you if you did. You'll walk away from this thread thinking you've won the argument because no one has shown you "evidence" of the blatant racism at the base of the movement. You'll feel good about yourself, and even feel smart. But you'll still be wrong, and the halfway intelligent people around you will recognize it. Probably they'll sigh and say nothing because they'll realize it's a waste of breath, like it is with most Tea-Bag people.
