I've never had any of the major problems like crashing to the desktop that people are having problems with, from the sounds of it most of it is ATI drivers causing problems. I did have a problem one time of not being able to run a map I was making that worked fine ten minutes earlier, but a restart fixed everything.

For example there are a ton of extremely useful console command diagnostics that I can't remember anymore, and they may never be figured out.
I don't know how many of the team you have email addresses for, but would there be any chance of you firing out a message asking folks to list the console commands they can remember? (with or without a brief description of the associated effect. With would be nicer of course, but having to figure out what they do would be
much better than not knowing that they exist at all, so I'm sure that anything would be appreciated!)

Ricebug, you're revealing these quotes as if they are deep, dark secrets that reveal something sinister. We all read these quotes long before the editor was released. As for the stuff you "read between the lines," what does it have to do with the quotes? It is, rather, more information that we already knew. The only new "revelation" is number 5

5. A few months later, a growing realization that something is seriously wrong with the toolset.
which seems rather unfounded.
Sure, we're encountering some problems, but we knew all along we wouldn't be getting an editor with polish shiny enough to let us see our reflections.

It's more than unfounded, it's speculation. "A few months later" has not even happened yet.

Krypt, do you mean the debug menu in the editor's version of the game executable? If yes, then it doesn't need a console command, it can be opened via pressing backspace. Handy indeed :thumb:.
Yes, that's the one I was talking about :D I knew there was a hotkey for it somewhere. I tried Backspace in the game, but I think I found why it didn't pop up... When I open it it just shows up as a black box with no text  It still seems like the menu is there, but I just can't see the text. I have a Radeon9800XT... hopefully it doesn't do this for all ATI cards. If this is a common bug then we'll still need the console commands it seems...

I have a 9200se running on catalyst 4.4, and the menu looks fine. Occasionaly it starts cycling options by itself, but that's the only problem I had with it yet.

Radeon 9600 Atlantis here, the menu is fine. I'm using Catalyst 5.3.

Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro (Cats 4.9). Menu looks OK.

I haven't updated my drivers in a while, maybe that's it. I'll try getting new ones tomorrow and see if anything changes.

Sure maybe it's buggy but EVERYONE needs to try and be a bit less cynical...
Would I prefer no editor? No.
I've got the editor now and we'll all slowly get the bugs ironed out. I'm just glad we have it at all and I have no interest in pointing fingers trying to "blame" someone for it's problems. I'd rather do something else.
