Just a silly question from someone rather early in the game: what happens if my character doesn't eat?

more important, HOW do you eat? i swear i got him to eat once or twice but now... nothing happens except he's getting more and more insistent about needing to eat.
i've also lost the ability to save or load games, they just disappeared.
the pages that had all the instructions for what keys did what disappeared from my manual, too.
*sighs*
oh yeah, its the demo. :( anyone have any help?

Well, what have you been trying to eat? Because vegetables can be eaten per se, and ribs and fish you have to cook (ie., throw into fire for a while) before they can be eaten.

i feed him everything i can find that's edible.
rats ribs are cooked on a fire first.
same with fish and any other raw meat he finds.
veggies... carrots and mushrooms seem to be all he can find.
its no problem feeding him. it's just that 60 seconds after eating, he's begging me for food again!!! if i don't feed him after his third beg, then his health starts disappearing.
it's gotten so horrific that i've stopped playing. jowood doesn't help. plex on their forums just tells me to reinstall and apply all the patches. which i've done about 10 times so far. :( i'm no gaming newb either. but this is the first time i've run into something so infuriating.

PS: its the full game. like an idiot i listened to plex when he said that this was a "non-issue" in the full game. :( i'm seriously considering taking it back and exchanging it for another game.

Make sure you you have patched it to 1.17. the earlier versions had an hunger problem.
