Am I still allowed to call them black people?

Until you can learn to treat a person as a human being, then I'm not going to accept your opinion as valid.
There are times when you get so wrapped up in debating some minor insignificant quibble that you lose sight of the topic at hand and consequently destroy any valid point you might otherwise have had.
This is one of those times.

I don't really care that you think it's insignificant. Referring to a bunch of people purely by their national status is vile and invidious. That you and your entire continent fail to see this is not my fault.

Tough shit. You're using a repugnant Americanism which has inherent negative connotations to refer to a whole bunch of people. Until you can learn to treat a person as a human being, then I'm not going to accept your opinion as valid.
Nor do I consider your opinion as valid since you are obviously not affected by "illegals" in the US.

Are you going to back that claim up with some facts, or are you going to continue to ignore them?

Good to see that you're effectively combatting the evils caused by gross generalizations! :thumb:

Of course, it's pretty easy to discount the argument of "Illegals are a drain on the system because they don't pay taxes!" as total bullshit because it's a self fulfilling prophecy. You don't get to bitch about a class of people not paying taxes if the system is set up to prevent them from doing so.
The real question should be whether "immigrants" in general are a drain on the system.

I don't care that you think it's significant! Nyah!
Come on d00d, you can do better than this.

Jprobs, we can get rid of the illegal immigrants any time we like - all we have to do is go after their employers. We know who they are. Every other policy is literally a smokescreen intended to draw off the attention of people like you. Almost nobody in the legislature has any intention of doing anything real about illegal immigration.
Responding to the original post, vast tracts of U.S. land is essentially uninhabitable. Including the deserts, mountains, and, well, Alaska in the population density equation basically makes it an irrelevant figure. Would you make the same argument regarding Canada?
Turtle on 26/6/2006 at 19:32
This thread is great.
And fronzen, you can call them black people but not blacks, because that's an adjective.
Ditto for Italians, gays, females...

Gringos -
Give us back the land Santa Anna was forced to sell!
-Lovingly: Mexico
PS. We'll stop sending illegal immigrants if you pardon our debt to you.

Actually, I tend to agree with you on this issue, dear. Jumping to conclusions is another one of your internet tard tendencies.
I find the term "illegals" distasteful as well. I don't particularly like the term "blacks," or "gays," or any of these plural nouns used to sum up a minority. However, as none of these are actually considered to be slurs by anyone other than you or I, we must look beyond our own personal quirks and actually assess
what's being said. "Illegals should have the same rights as the rest of us as long as they pay taxes" is remarkably different from "illegals have caused all the problems in my town."
