Because everytime I play through System Shock I find something new that I didn't know beforehand. Whether it be a hidden note, log, e-mail, a door broken beyond repair, etc. Been at TTLG for ten years now and played System Shock for 16 and I have to say it has been a good ride.:cheeky:

Why do I still love it?
Because it takes a hefty dump on pretty much all other PC games. Best atmos, best soundtrack, best story etc etc etc. Agree on the Dead Space thing very much.

System Shock is one of the best computer games. Ever. I still play it every year or so even though by now it's already more than 15 years since its (CD) release... It is just perfect, and IMHO at least as enjoyable as modern offerings such as S.T.A.L.K.E.R, if not downright better.
The plot, the gameplay, the atmosphere - all so great!
I also still play Ultima Underworld (which uses the same engine) - which is hands-down better than its modern equivalent Arx Fatalis.
I also still play Thief I and II - they both are great games.

The System Shock series is, IMO, the best game series in existance. And it only gets more and more apparent by every year that goes by.

For me I enjoy the game, there is something about that clicks with me, I never played SS! before though a friend of mind told me about SS2 and I took his advice and got the game and found it to be worth the cash I paid out for.
I have never really been a game moder but this game inspires me to do so I just hope to hell that whatever mod tools are out there are easy to use.
All in all SS2 is by far one of the best games I have ever played and I'll keep playing for years to come.

They don't give a shit about it anymore. It's not a critical component in their money making machine.
And actually, I'm happy about this. They're not skilled enough for this stuff. They can do heavy graphics and bangbang - That's their business

Bioware should totally do SS3.

For me, it was the original feelings when I first played SS2. I have played many games since then and none, other than Thief, have had such an amazing atmosphere. The story, the setting, the dread, SHODAN's taunting, XERXES, those scary-as-shit Rumblers, the audio logs - it's just perfect (minus cheesy ending).
I Just recently installed SS2 once more after 3 years or so, and although it's not the quite the same as the first 20 times or so I played it , it's still such an amazing game!

You can go straight to hell.
Do not pass Start.
Do not collect $200.
