Oz, at least from what I saw of the first two seasons, didn't have half the depth of writing from a social issues standpoint - sure, it had pretty involved character development but its narrow focus allows that, whereas the character development in The Wire in tandem with its incredibly open-ended approach to narrative makes it all the more impressive.

The fact that so many people can see and appreciate the brilliance of The Wire gives me renewed hope in humanity considering the ship of fools and mediocrity we are sailing in.
And of course I can forgive your like of the turbid pap that was Indy 4 Scots since you are flying the good flag and flying it strong.
How does The Wire exist in a world where Stargate is also popular?

I haven't watched Indy 4 since my casually lukewarm review and I doubt I ever will, but I didn't find it the affront to my cinematic sensibilities and raping of my childhood that you did so just drop it willya? Also did you ever read (

I've just finished watching The Wire, and man, what an awesome experience. I really am going to miss the characters and their locale.
Truly one of the best things i have seen.

Why did I not start watching this show back when I had more free time. I'm only 3/4 through season 1 and I'm pretty well hooked, but I have a hard time fitting in a 50 minute episode these days :mad:
