I have to say, I was pulled in from the very first scene, the "Snotboogie" exchange. "This is America, man." :D

Well that first episode pretty much bored me to tears. Lost interest about an hour into it.
I just wish they'd bring back the Eagle on TV, now that was an awesome crime show.

Your taste is shit, let's leave it at that.
I'm 5 episodes into Season 5 and man oh man is it awesome. Between McNulty and Freamont on their hilarious serial killer "case", Marlo's manoeuvrings with the Greeks and now killing Prop Joe, Carver growing the fuck up and becoming one of the wisest cops in the Western like ole Bunny, Omar back on the case and the indictment of Clay Sheeeeeeeeeiiiiiiittttttttt Davis it's all very compelling viewing thus far. The newspaper stuff has been fairly benign thus far, but that's generally the case for the "new" material like the Docks or Schools, though I will admit the Schools was by far the most instant hook into the new social realm that they've explored.
This season also crystallised just how awesome the supporting cast are and I really took a shine to Berrel's performance of late, he's carried the role well but only faced with complete dishonour and stripping of power does his true jaded self come out from behind the mask.

Same here. Except I pulled myself together and watched episode 2. And then 3. And then I couldn't stop until it was over.

On a related note: Wendell "Bunk Moreland" Pierce was in a post-Katrina black production of Waiting for Godot. I'd love to see that guy on stage...

Why do you persist in reiterating the anaemia of taste that flows in your philistinious blood?
Go watch Midsomer Murders and don't darken this thread with your unholy presence again.

That's seems to be the TTLG way, people get shot down for having opinions.

And it will stay that way as long as you keep comparing Crème brûlée to Jell-O.
Sulphur on 1/9/2009 at 16:25
Mmm, crème brûlée. Makes this post-dinner giganto lemon tart I'm having seem inadequate. Can't touch it now. :erg:

You say like that all opinions are legitimate. For the most part they are, but sometimes, like when they are based on some riiiidiculous supposition (American cop show = dumb, duuurrhuuuur) or are just stupid (Kathy Bates is
way hotter than Megan Fox) then there is no reason for people to not tell you you're being an idiot.
Now you're going to argue with me about subjectively finding Kathy Bates hotter aren't you?
