To answer the original poster, all hybrids are male because Irrational didn't have the time or resources to make female hybrid models. Same reason they recycled the Goggles model for the suicide ghost, and made three robots based off basically the same mesh.

Speaking of character models though, does anyone know any good guides or tutorials on adding character models into the game? I have no problem converting objects into .bin format, but character models always crash on me.

Actually, this is a very good idea- perhaps the Many have the ability to change the gender of the host.

Yeah, I know. It was just one of those weak explanations to "fix" an inconsistency.
If there really is a reason for it it's more likely that the midwives comprise of almost all the female staff, and that the rest were turned into hybrids too like the other crew members, but we never get to see them since they're so rare.
