I've always wondered for all these years who the face on the System Shock 1 box belongs to. I always just assumed it was the hacker due to him being the protagonist, but in retrospect I'm beginning to suspect it's a cyborg in the midst of the conversion process, given the red eyes and the mechanical apparatus surrounding his head.
Did Looking Glass ever confirm who the character on the box was? I mean it's entirely possibly it was just a mocked up image done by marketing that doesn't actually represent any actual character, but I sincerely doubt that.

I'm pretty sure it's one of the Elite Cyborgs from the Bridge level.
