Now everything you want to know about our President is front and center.
No kidding! Today I was reading a news article about the Senate, which only mentioned the President once, but all 3 pictures were of Himself. :weird:

Just out of interest, what points were you seeking information on?
In which country was he born? Even the Supreme Court was afraid to ask.
And in case anyone forgot since last election, I'm a libertarian, i.e. someone who can no longer tell the difference between the Democrats and the Republicans.

The country of his birth was answered, and apparently accepted since he's called Mr. President. What do you mean the Supreme Court was afraid to ask? Do you mean afraid to investigate? :cheeky:

Its not about saying "nyah nyah I was right and you were wrong", its about being able to acknowledge (at least to yourself) when you turn out to be proven wrong. Its about saying "hmm, well that wasn't at all what I thought, I should adjust my perception accordingly" instead of just writing it off and going along with the exact same opinions.
That is the most destructive thing we have about politics, the inability to be wrong. Just recognize that you probably aren't right about everything you feel you are right about (nobody is). You might not know exactly what those things are, but when something very obvious like this comes along, its really useful information and you shouldn't pass it over.
Thing is, I *hoped* I would be wrong, Oh I guess I forgot to come back and say that. :p Its also about being a nit pick when not all the information is there.

Oh Christ on a bike. So the fact that the Director of Hawaii's Department of Health has issued statements that they hold his original birth certificate is not sufficient? That the short-form certificate that was released specifically states place of birth as 'Honolulu'?
Does it even matter at all, given that even if he was born in another country he is an American citizen at birth under the Immigration and Nationality Act? The Act which, let us remember, is apparently also the one that grants John McCain US citizenship, as he was born in the Panama Canal Zone?

Hawaii? There's a "state" called HAWAII?! Unbelievable. They'll let anyone be president. Next thing you know the dar...
Oh.
Well, well maybe he's not old enough. They can fake the date on those things you know! And on birth certificates, too.

Anyone can underestimate the ability to change; my criticism regards your tendency to roll your eyes and grab the new jaded indifference when change actually happens. "Nothing will change" is traded in for "yeah things changed so what."
There are many things historic about Obama's victory, no matter how you may write it off with a "yeah, great." He's now in a position to make a difference, and he will. The quality and severity of the difference is what remains to be determined.
Obama may prove to be a shitty president but it won't be due to an inability to enact change.
I'll split some more hairs here, just what do you want me to say stitch? I already said I was glad I was wrong. What more do you want me to say? Huh?
I never said I wrote it off, you said that. Quit putting words into my mouth. I already stated I was hoping there would be change, I just never came back and replied stating such a fact.
What president hasn't made change, good or bad, thats a mute point, and not worth mentioning. What he does, and what he can change, only time will tell yes. We are in agreement there.
The government overall has a firm grip on just how much change can take place.
Given time, who knows. I will still have my jaded attitude to a point, thank you.
I've lost faith in the government. Who knows what the future holds anymore.

Bah - my witty/smart-ass remark to dlw6 is forever lost on the other server.
The general idea was:
Seriously? Are people STILL on this?

This isn't how you escape from a noose constructed of your own words, for the record.
