Lol BEAR, you're argument is flawed based on the fact that you think saying the word "fucking" in your post gives you more credibility, and the fact that you seem to contradict yourself. So, which is it, are you for or against Obama? Also, let me get this strait... So you're saying (not
myself, but I'm sure you are referring to some other TTLG members here) that we're stupid for voting for obama because it's like a fad to vote for him, yet you're happy he got elected? What kind of fucked up logic is this? Of course I could be interpreting your words wrong...

Change like what he proposed in the election doesn't come all at once, yeah he might have acted as if it could but you would have been stupid to actually fall for it. He happened to need gullible motherfuckers like you who are going to be infatuated with any passing fad to get elected, because he needed to get elected (and we needed him to get elected), so I'm glad he lied (if he even did).
No shit Shurlock (the part about change not happening immediately). Who exactly are you calling "gullible motherfuckers"? Your vague statements don't help your argument.

#'s: A wise-ass post deserves a response. The rhetorical aspect is rendered irrelevant.:joke::laff::joke::p:eww:

I didn't expect perfection, and I didn't vote for Obama. I certainly don't think he's a saint. However, I do have just enough naivety left to hope things get better. I am cynical enough not to be surprised in the least in my disappointment, and, in fact, I expect it. But, I just can't manage to crush that little, tiny part of me that still believes that this nation could be, should be, great.
If you believe all that, then why didn't you vote for Obama? Are you a Republican? Third party then?

My very first vote was the presidential election of 1988. Reaganomics was going strong and life was good for me. I managed to maintain my delusions until Bush Sr. left office.
If you became cynical/apathetic with our government, then you obviously didn't vote for a major party. Or did you. You still went with the R's, didn't you?

Yeah, you misinterpreted his words pretty severely.

I'm not going to bother pointing out what I mean to him/her. I hope its a language barrier problem (for his/her sake).
Just fyi, I wasn't directing my post at any one individual, more anyone in general actually bothered by this whole thing, with specific parts for different beef's. For some people the whole post applies, for others none of it will.

sNeaksie, you're [no apostrophe btw] argument is flawed based on the fact that you think saying the word "shit" in your post gives you more credibility, and the fact that you seem to have misunderstood both the tone and the point of his fucking post.;)

I usually find myself stuck in the middle. There are core issues from both major parties with which I agree. There have been some very interesting third party candidates, but never one with any chance of winning. In a close election, I will vote for the person I think will be better for the job and has a chance of getting it.
I did not vote for Obama because I didn't, and still don't, know enough about him. I had enough questions about his past associations and actions that I wasn't comfortable voting for him. I don't agree with everything the Republicans say, but the Dems didn't inspire my confidence this time around. I opted for the person (yes, McCain) that I understood better. I didn't agree with all his proposed policies, but I also don't disagree with all of Obama's. Yes, given my past, my comfort zone is with the Republicans, but I vote for the person I feel is best suited for the job who actually has a chance of being elected.
