+1000000 points for including Seth Green. If I were gay or female, I'd be in love with him.
Hell yeah; I'm in love with him. Even though a part of me will never forgive him for ruining Buffy by leaving.

The problem is I am so out of pop/hip-hop music that the chance of me having even heard of any of the originals on his album is next to nil.
Yeah. Me, too. I sorta listen to rap, but it's through my wall as a loud, thumping drone I can't hear, but rather FEEL, about one hour after I lay down to sleep. I wish I was joking. I really do. This would be the sole reason why I have dreamt about strangling my teenage neighbor. Although, to his credit, after I repeatedly wrote courteous complaints and acquired their phone number so that I could call and incoherently mumble sleepy requests to turn down the noise so that I could hear myself think or maybe get two hours sleep before my next 8-hour work shift, it got about half better.
As if I needed MORE of a reason to hate rap. Nothing ever sounds more redundant than when its utter lack of any variation EVER in melody-devoid beat is hammered into your brain at a million decibels while you're trying desperately to sleep because you already had the headache--and entire body ache, in fact--from hell. Thank you, you little bas--*takes a deep breath* I am in my happy place. I am in my happy place. I am in my happy place.

Like I'd never heard of that 'you're beautiful' song till Weird Al did the parody, despite my aunt's protests that this was impossible.
That actually is impossible. Your brain must've just blacked out the horror. Be grateful for this mercy. Some of us were not so lucky. But Al sometimes soothes the whiny-music-battered soul a little.
I found "White and Nerdy" funny despite not having heard it before, but I take a certain particularly sadistic satisfaction from "Pitiful". Because that song turns my brain to acid.

But I think Ray Stevens is truly Al's predesesor in terms of original songs. Some of his stuff like 'Eric the Awful' or 'Shriner's Convention' were so bizzare and original in thier day. Stevens made a career from original bizzaro songs and I don't know that anyone else has ever been able to do that. I think Al is way more funny, but his longevity is due to his 'cover' tunes rather than his (albiet brilliant) original stuff.
My fav Al song:
Midnight Star
I was waiting in the express lane with my twelve items or less
At the checkout counter at the local grocery store
I was only passin' by
But a paper caught my eye
And I learend a few things I mever knew before
It said your pet may be an extra terrestrial
It said the ghost of elvis is living in my den
You can learn to cope with stress
You can beat the IRS
And the incredible frog boy is on the loose again
Oh, Mignight Star
It's in the weekly Midnight Star
Aliens from outer space are sleeping in my car
Midnight Star, I wanna know, I wanna know
Eat jelly donuts and lose twenty pounds a day
Hear the story of the man born without a head
And top psychics all agree
That the telephone company
Will have a brand new service that lets you talk to the dead
Oh, Midnight Star
You can believe it if you read it in the weekly Mignight Star
They're keeping Hitler's brain alive inside a jar
Midnight Star, I wanna know, I wanna know
Tell me, tell me, tell me how to make my bust-line grow
Midnight Star, I wanna know
Oh, Midnight Star
Well, don't you know that I read it, I read it in the weekly Midnight Star
The UFOs have landed and we'll tell you where they are
Midnight Star, I wanna know, I wanna know
Midnight Star
Well, you can read all about in in the weekly Midnight Star
You can use you ESP to learn to play guitar
Midnight Star I wanna know, I wanna know

Midnight Star is great, but I think my favorite Al original is Melanie:
Me-he-he-helanie
What can the problem be
Sweet Me-he-he-he-helanie
Why won't you go out with me
She lived across the street on the fifteenth floor of the Gilmore building
I saw her in the shower reaching for some soap
I knew she had to be the girl for me
And to think I probably never would have found her
If I hadn't bought that telescope
Oh, Me-he-he-helanie
What can the problem be
Sweet Me-he-he-he-helanie
Why won't you go out with me
I just can't understand it
Why won't you return my phone calls
Are you still mad I gave a Mohawk to your cat
If you'd just say the word
I'm certain that our love would last forever and ever
Or are you too dumb to realize that
Me-he-he-helanie
What can the problem be
Sweet Me-he-he-he-helanie
Why won't you go out with me
How can you ignore me when you know that I can't live without you
I have to go through your garbage just to learn more about you
Melanie, ooh
Oh sweet Me-he-he-helanie
Why won't you go out with me
You weren't impressed when I tattooed your name across my forehead
You wouldn't listen when I promised to be true
I couldn't stand it so I jumped out from the sixteenth story window
Right above you
Now I may be dead but I still love you
Me-he-he-helanie
What can the problem be
Sweet Me-he-he-he-helanie
Why won't you go out with me

Oh, yeah! I love "My Ding-A-Ling". Risque back then, but still funny now. I actually have that queued in my walking songs.
How many people saw UHF?

Weird Al sometimes comes off as amateur but this song is pretty good 'Ain't got no grill but I still wear braces' lol.
I've just seen the Eat it clip for the first time, I like how everything is just a little bit different from the original clip.. except the stupid piano t-shirt MJ also wears.

no one else seems to have got bored of it
lol
Also the reason why no one has tried to emulate it is that even in their darkest moments, the shittest comedians around wouldn't even consider such vampiric, early 90's neon sludge thinks-it's-funny-AND-clever bullshit!
His entire discography looks like GBS
