Scots is just bitter that he's not an O.G. Weird Al fan like Zylon.
You know that pulls mad chicks.

I still think the most hilarious recent one has to be the take off on Avril Lavignivenesee's (or however the fuck you spell it) "Complicated". He changed it to 'Constipated' - "Why'd you have to go and make me so constipated....and I grunt, and I groan, and I scream, and I moan..." Hysterical. :laff: :laff:

It's almost as if I used a qualifier for a reason.
AWWWWWWW SNAP NIGGA
It's almost like I used that to back up my own point, being that it's funnier if you've heard the original song, rof!

Since you've been gone
Well, I feel like I've been chewing on tinfoil
Since you've been gone
It's like I got a great big mouthful of cod liver oil
Oh well, I'm feelin like I stuck my hand
Inside a blender and turned it on
You know, I've been in a buttload of pain
Since you've been gone
(Since you've been gone)
I couldn't feel any worse if you dropped
A two-ton bowling ball on my toes
(Since you've been gone)
It couldn't hurt any more if you shoved
A red-hot cactus up my nose
Since you've been gone
Well, it feels like I'm getting tetanus shots every day
Since you've been gone
It's like I've got an ice cream headache that won't go away
Ever since that day you left me
I've been so miserable, my dear
I feel almost as bad as I did
When you were still here
I do very much enjoy Al's parodies, but sometimes I think his original works tend to go underappreciated.

Frankly, I'm amazed that he's still putting out albums. This guy's got more longevity than pretty much anyone still recording I can think of other than the Rolling Stones.

Good find ZB. I remember him being introduced onto the Dr. Demento show. Man that was a long time ago. I used to stay up after I was supposed to be in bed and record the Dr. Demento show. "My Bologna" and "Another One Rides the Bus" are among the classic singles from Weird Al.
Here's a list of his singles for anyone curious. (

ZB, why do you insist on spinning people up constantly? I really would get sick of being on here if I continually had to argue with these people. I only really got snotty with a couple people on here, and they leave me alone for the most part. I see the same people antagonizing you continuously. Doesn't it get old, whether you are right or wrong? I don't know, call me silly, but I wouldn't hang out somewhere that I get provoked all the time.

I don't know, I don't think it's that supprising he's still making albums. As long as people keep making pop music, he'll keep spoofing it. I think it's more likely the public's interest in his parodies will wane before he's ready to stop. But then same thing could have been said back in the 80s (after In 3-D, UHF and Even Worse) when his popularity peaked, and he didn't stop then.
I grew up with Dr. Demento, and I'll never get tired of Weird Al's stuff. I haven't paid too much attention to his newer stuff (ie: last 5-10 years) though, mostly because I'm so out of touch with the new music he's making fun of now. I had to ask somebody if "White and Nerdy" was a spoof of a real song, or one he made up. And for those who haven't yet, it's worth watching Chamillionaire's video (even if, like me, you hate rap) just to "get" the jokes in "White and Nerdy".
+1000000 points for including Seth Green. If I were gay or female, I'd be in love with him.

I guess what I find unusual is that he hasn't got bored of it, no one else seems to have got bored of it, and there aren't a slew of people trying to jump on the Novelty / Parody train with him and end up diluting him out of the running. Between comedians, morning radio DJs and various other things people do give the whole parody / novelty song thing a go, but they seem to wander off very quickly.
But Weird Al's one of those guys who pops up every few years and you say OH RIGHT, HIM. Which I think is cool.
Actually, I think the music and comedy industry is too busy trying to bite each other's shit for them to start biting the shit of a guy who makes his living biting other people's shit in a way other than the industry standard of CLONE CLONE CLONE. If that makes sense.

I understand what you're saying. There actually is plenty of people doing parody music, but outside of Dr. Demento or the occasional Bob & Tom-ish morning shows, none of them get any play. There just isn't much interest anymore in novelty songs these days. Ask young folk these days about Allen Sherman, Jim Stafford, Loudon Wainwright III, or Guns 'n' Moses...or even Ray Stevens, and they won't have a clue what you're talking about. But everybody knows "Weird" Al. He's the king. He's the only one that ever really got any play on "normal" radio, or MTV or VH-1. He's got more songs on P2P apps mis-credited to him than he actually did himself.
Someone might have a flare-up hit with a novelty parody song once in a while (particularily Christmas songs), but Weird Al will always be the king.
