I thought this song was pretty well known. Well, it was funny either way.

Yeah, especially like that one he did called "Smells like Nirvana"
It's almost as if I used a qualifier for a reason.

Al's lyrics are generally unrelated to the original content, but knowing the original usually makes it funnier because he tries to use the same or similar rhymes.

I wish ZB would actually fucking make a point instead of reiterating the same one over and over again while everyone has moved on.

Like the Metaillica one..
"off to napster napster land"
Cant remember the proper name for it, but it was taking the piss out of Enter Sandman I think. Ofcourse the lyrics made absolute sense.
TBH I bearly get a chuckle out of Weird Al. MC Hawking is the shiz
[EDIT] Is that Donny Osmond in the video? Or one of them at least.

And we all wish you were capable of grasping points without having them repeated to you. The circle of life is complete.

Ah! I remember Amish Paradise.
That was so long ago...
ZylonBane on 27/9/2006 at 01:07
Pfft. "Amish Paradise" is still recent history. "Like a Surgeon"... now that's a long time ago.

The problem is I am so out of pop/hip-hop music that the chance of me having even heard of any of the originals on his album is next to nil.
Like I'd never heard of that 'you're beautiful' song till Weird Al did the parody, despite my aunt's protests that this was impossible.
I'm just finishing off watching the Weird Al Show on DVD. Due to the interference of CBS,the commentary is actually funnier than the show itself.

Except you originally contradicted your own post, so repeating it is worthless. You hadn't heard this song, neither had I; his parodies function
in part (I would say, largely) by riffing on songs that are popular - I was questioning the popularity of the track.
I know that you can, and probably will, try harder to troll this worthless point, but I really don't care to get drawn deep into an argument with you - you highlighted my post with your desired and almost pre-fucking-requisite intent of being a smarmy prick to anyone who even appears to dislike or disagree with something you have invested any time in. You've succeeded, take satisfaction in that rather than the persisted crapulence.
