I cant believe you guys can make a bottle of whiskey last more than a week.

A bit of Te Bheag (unchillfiltered), if you please, after work. It's more of a tonic really, and quite a steal. Whyte & Mackay (the thirteen) is a bit closer to Glasgow, but has the same attitude. Both are blends and not likely to impress enthusiasts, if that's what you're after.
The more adventuresome will dare the Irish and drink deeply from a bottle of Connemara (cask strength). If you can adjust to it, the flavour is quite pleasing.

I'd rather talk about tequila. What can you recommend that's good for sipping?

I bought a bottle of La Cava De Don Agustin. It looks fancier than it is, but it's real smoooth. I just want to know what to look for in the higher end.

Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish!
Jameson's is where it's at, and you all know it! Stop pretending otherwise.
It's proper whiskey as well, none of that cheap whisky stuff.

Just as an aside, how popular would our Irish whiskies be internationally, for example Bushmills?

China is a horrible country for a whisky lover. Bars here have shelves full of Jack Daniel's that may or may not have been mixed with local moonshine in the back room before putting it up. The "better" bars might also have Jameson in their selections, but I dislike that particular brand, so not much help there. I guess I could find proper malts from somewhere in the more international business and embassy districts in Beijing, but some of the bars there have higher price levels than what you find in Europe.
Lagavulin and Laphroaig are what I usually go for, but the 30 year old Talisker my brother acquired some time ago really showed them the door.

Relativily new to whisky, have yet to develope a real taste for it. I like the Black Grouse, 20 euro isn't that expensive and it doesn't burn your stomach like the cheaper offerings.
