Freeplay will be kickass, maybe a little buggy at first but it'll be improved.

I'm just ecstatic that on my next playthrough I won't be asked to defend the F'ing camp every time I travel through the wild territories.

I don't know about you, but I found out that later in the game, when I enter the Garbage and automatically receive the mission to defend the Stalkers' camp from the bandits, if I immediately quicksave then quickload, the mission is accomplished (as long as I have accomplished it at least once previously). The same thing happens in the Army Warehouse area with the mission to defend the border.

Freeplay looks good...but EXTREME? That will be tough.
I actually find the current maximum difficulty to be a bit easy :p You just sit back behind cover and headshot everyone, and you can scare the monsters away by shooting them a couple times from a distance.

hmm, I'm playing on max as well, have to complete the Yantar level and decided to limit myself to Pistol + Shotgun only. can't find anything easy with it. :D
on easy & maybe stalker you can play like Half-Life, -> sprint and spray the face, but all other difficulty settings require you to use the potshot-/sprint for cover/-technique. Only trouble are animals coming too near to you. Try some mods, i would say the realism + pitchblack night + monster mod, then hardcore becomes really hardcore.

Huh...no I never tried that. Thanks for the tip! Yeah, I just ignored them obviously, but it was still a bit of a hit to the ol' self-esteem whenever it told me I failed a mission I alread did.:p

Zombies at Yantar no longer run away from grenades
I must have missed this one when I first read through the fixes...hooray! This was one of those little things that just made me go "wtf?" I was always very disgruntled when I threw a perfectly placed F1 only to watch the slow-moving brain-crazed bodies scatter away from the blast radius.

Kind of unrelated to the thread, but interesting fact: a dev wrote they'll present Addon @ E3.

Unrelated? Maybe.
But interesting? Definitely.
