I picked a different one with each play through. I'm not sure which I prefer.
And yes, your skin choice also affects Paul's appearance. You are supposed to be nearly identical twins, so it would be pretty weird if Paul was pale and blond haired, and JC was dark and black-haired, or something.

It may just be my imagination, but I find it much easier to play a stealth game using the dark-skinned one than the albino one. I usually get shot up more often when playing as the albino because he does seem to stand out. This doesn't really make any sense because I don't think the game factors in the texture colors when judging visibility. Weird. :erm: :confused:
Plus the albino color makes Paul look about 50 years older than he actually is.:weird:

I imagine that, too, MHK. Maybe that's why I always pick that one? But really, the other skins just look awkward. ;)

I usually use a different skin, just to mix it up a bit. But I've come to associate those skins with their skill-set. The default is the first one I ever used, with a stealth/combat mix and rifles, the tanned-with-blackhair is same. The black-with-black is heavy weapons etc, and the pale-with-white is stealthy-melee. I've never used the red/ginger one. My friend loves it though (when he decided for a little bit that DX was ok) and calls it 'luftwafa' hair. He insists on spelling it like that (even though he pulled the name from the german parachute troop fellows in WW2. Not sure how it's really spelt.) So I leave it for him.

Pale redhead of course, thats what I am. I was so happy when I saw that, most games don't have a redhead option.
Optical_Alth: Luftwaffe* was the German air force before and during WWII. Just like Britian's Royal Air Force or the United States Air Force, not just paratroopers.

My character development plan affects on my color choice. The first time I played, I chose the pale red-brown haired, nowadays it is reserved for my "reduced-augs" Denton (who has no regen, ADS/spy drone, or cloak/radar transparency, since I consider these the most "unrealistic" augs).
If I go the Dragon's Tooth way, I take the albino, thus honoring Michael Moorcock's Elric character. Black Denton is extremely stealthy, and tanned is a kill-em-all dude.
The default, pale black-haired, is the "basic Denton", and is the one I usually choose since, well, I'm lazy.

I always chose the tanned with black haired JC. I think he looks most like a hard ass, especially with his 5 o'clock shadow he permantly bears. Also, I think he has a scar somewhere on his face the others don't, but I may be wrong.
