and here's another for the list of impossibly vague stupid questions: "Jesus, being a prophet, should be respected; however, being a man, not be worshipped." If I disagree am I saying he SHOULD be worshipped, or am I saying that he's not a prophet?

Yes, obviously all religious people are dim-witted cows.
Of course not all. But a lot of people where I live (of course, the mid west) are very ignorant and closed-minded. Yes.. I am aware that I'm stereotyping right now, but it's true, that it seems to me that athiests/agnostics are more free thinkers (I guess? not sure what to call it) then religious people. Of course that could be because religious people outnumber athiests/agnostics 100:1 at least probably.

Christianity is the second of the Abrahamic faiths; it follows Judaism and is followed by Islam. It differs in its belief of Jesus, as not a prophet nor historical figure, but as God in human form. The Holy Trinity is the concept that God takes three forms: the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost (sometimes called Holy Spirit). I thought I'd be more jewish than agnostic. At least paganism is at the bottom. I'd worship Satan before getting near that stuff.

That qualifies as Satanism? There has to be a more specific word for it. "Satanism" seems too extreme.
Not really, no. From what I've read, the point of the non-stereotypical satanism is founded on their belief that the 'old school' Christian God is evil, in the sense of his demands for conformity, worship of him, etc, etc. They believe that Satan is not the wicked eat-babies bloke, but rather that he is portrayed to be as such by Christianity, because he chose to not conform to DE SYSTEM, thus pisssing off God. God's smear campaign of Satan follows, and presto - you have a 'free spirit' portrayed as a wicked villian, a scapegoat, if you will.
Of course, there's always those cults that pretend that Satan speaks to them, but a 'real' Satanist has as much in common with them as a moderate Christian has with a bile-spewing 'burn the gheys' fundy.
At least, that's what they say.

Satanism, in its broad definiton, goes in hand with demonism and "diabloism", which is is basically a worship of demons. Having a "favorable" opinion of Satan is just kind of an odd idea to me. Acknowledgment of the existance of this belief apparently makes you a sort of heretic apparently.

No, it's not. You just haven't seen it.
When I start saying things like "Boy, I'm really mad now, I tell you   " and people start disappearing, that's usually a good clue.

That's the mythos, so to speak, but Satanism is an atheistic belief system. It purports that God and Satan don't actually exist but base their philosophy, ethics, whatever on the "values" that Satan was supposedly snubbed for.
In my experience Satanism is just a fancy-pants version of Ethical Egoism with a dash of "How to be a smug Asshole without feeling bad about it" on the side.
