Indeed, people generally are allowed in areas whose government was created by Christians. Funny how that works out.
Arian Christianity (which was the majority of Christians for a while) spread primarily through missionaries. The Arian tribes were then forcibly converted to Catholicism, except for the Franks who skipped right from paganism to Catholicism. I don't know what's characteristically "parasitic" about it, but perhaps you could elaborate?
