I can't remember the name of the first, but I'm thinking of the ones for melee. One makes you do 35% more damage, and the other makes you do an overhead swing, that does more damage. But, since the latter doesn't actually SAY how much... how much *does* it do? Thinking of getting out the ol' laser rapier and whoring it, wondering which I should get first.

It depends on the weapon in question.
Overhead swing is around 33% extra for the rapier and the psi sword, 50% extra for the wrench... and don't ask about the shard.
There's a bug that causes the shard to deal way too much damage unless you're using (
http://www.strangebedfellows.de/index.php/topic,25.0.html) the latest version of ADaOB.
Bear in mind that it's harder to hit certain enemies with an overhead swing.

Well I'm using ADaOB so wewt. So what you're basically saying is, no real difference, so just pick one. Righto, thanks for answering my question.

Although it's hard to hit certain enemies with the overhead swing, when you do hit them, you hit them hard. :sly:

You CAN have BOTH, you know. There are 4 total you can get through the whole game. I think those two, sharpshooter, and cybernetically enhanced are the most useful. The rest you can pretty much take care of by not playing like an idiot.

Or like a beginner. ;)

Well, the right beginner thinks he's playing smart. He's sneaking around, looking both ways, trying to be really cautious... and then HOLY FUCK WHERE DID HE COME FROM OH GOD I WET MY PANTS
Yeah, I remember that.

Yeah, I remember Hydro for the first time. Turned left at the elevator, went to the end of the corridor and found the vial, only to hear this god-awful cyber-shriek. I remember thinking to myself
WHAT THE F%@K IS THAT!?
I found out a few moments later of course; seven years later and they *still* freak me out.

Oh I know-it's just a while between Medsci and Hydroponics, so I wondered if one was worth prioritising. I tend to go all 'dakka-dakka-dakka-(click) Balls, gun ja-aaaaargh!' usually, and don't bother with melee much. :p

Invest in anti-entropy and you'll be blasting enemies to hell like Doomguy. ;)

"Which OS upgrade does more damage (to System Shock II)?"
Windows Vista! :laff:
