That's what jumped out to me about that photo, but the guy was just tasked with recording some commentary-less gameplay footage for the fans to see, so it didn't bother me that he wasn't trying to establish the proper environment for playing a Thief game.

Why should anyone respond to you if this the way you argue with people? Explain why his argument is a strawman. If someone is misunderstanding you, clarify the point you were making. Playing in bright "office lighting" is of course another thing, and my silly example above is obviously exaggerated, but I think it's pretty essential that the game can be played in "normal" conditions and doesn't require any special set-up in your living room. I seriously couldn't play the old Thief games during the summer months, because it gets dark enough only during the nights in here, and I didn't want to buy new curtains just to be able to play Thief. :p

I do sometimes play with a blanket over my head when it's sunny otherwise I can't see a damn thing. :o
Obviously playing with the lights on isn't a serious comment. I quite happily played Thief in my office when I had one.
