Honestly I'm pretty sure it's going to share splinter cells problem of like 1-3 set in stone ways to tackle a situation that where predetermined to get through a linear area, rather than thief's open level to explore.
My thoughts exactly.
I find the Splinter Cell series extremely overrated for that reason. They play out more like a series of isolated puzzles, and unfortunately, all the videos of Thief look almost exactly like that style of design.

Does the player use focus here? Because the player is clearly not compensating for distance, as well as not compensating for horizontal movement of the target, yet it's still a hit. By shooting like that, the arrow should have missed him behind his lower back, because the player didn't aim to the upper left of the target.

It's time to put the sword to this ridiculous, fallacious and outright misleading picture once and for all.

I don't think that's using focus. The animation of the focus meter burning isn't happening and the meter doesn't appear to lose any points.

I'd assume the intention is to make aiming a lot more welcoming to newcomers.

Newcomers shooting from that far dont need that target and just get closer.
Others dont deserve to be treated like newcomers with a press 'x' to win.
With all that animation, even missing the target should be exciting enough.

Is is possible to strawman harder than this? Just wondering. Thats a map-dump from doom vs something you drew to be as boring as possible on purpose.

Seems pretty accurate to me. Care to name some modern FPS games that don't fit this pattern? Cos for every 1 you mention he could name 3 that fit his pattern.
