My tyrant gf has insisted that the PC go on top of the wardrobe out of the way. My current wireless mouse is now not responding, it's probably too far away. The guy in the local electronics store said that wiresless mice have to be on the same plane as the reciever, which I know is not universally true.
Can anyone recommend a mouse that will operate at a distance of about 6 or 7 feet and at an angle of about 45 degrees?
My keyboard works ok so there must be something out there.

For what it's worth my logitech trackball has no qualms about working about 20ft away from the floor with the receiver up on the ceiling or for that matter if the receiver is in a different room. (I'm not recommending a trackball over a mouse for gaming by the way, but if the electronics are similar in their mice, then if my experience is anything to go by you should be alright. Also, check your batteries and stuff)

You could also use bluetooth. I use one sometimes on my laptop, and my father in-law uses both keyboard and mouse for his desktop. He can be far away as he wants to use them both, and at any angle. He just chills on the couch and uses the mouse on his thigh.
