I've managed to download a couple of mods now (namely one to give you a house near Sedya Need and another that adds a small haunted house by the coast). I'm just curious to know which are the best mods to DL at this point in time? Which ones actually add interesting twists to this amazing game?
Thanks!

none
most mods out now are shadows of the modding potential, due to the quickness at which they are produced and the experience(roughly less than a month) of which the modders have... no mods out now actually change the game much, most just add to the actual content, in a very small manner.

Aye. I would be inclined to agree. I have downloaded no mods as of yet for this reason. I would rather wait a few more months when I am sure htat those who want to do such things have one, had more time to learn all that there is to know about it, and two, have put in enough time to give me an impressive mind boggling mod (as hard as it may be, I want it! ;p). I don't just want a mod that will give me a super cool item right in the basket where I find that guy's ring in the beginning.

Makes sense. The quality mod's, we'll get to later. I'm not interested either in getting a mod that gives me a 'super powerful' weapon, that would be against the whole point of role playing. Like I said, the ones I downloaded are nothing huge, just extra little touches.
Although there is one mod out there that lets you fight other NPC's in there Vivec Arena that looks rather interesting. Might try that one just for the heck of it. Thank you for the responses!

Actually there are some really interesting and well developed mods out there. Major house stock market, a bank where you can earn interest and buy homes, a mana regeneration mod. A mod that lets you improve your stronghold. I agree that these are coming from a first generation of TES modding, and the majority of mods are not very impressive, but some really are worth checking out.

The improving of your stronghold one sounds interesting. I'm sure as time goes by, we will be overwhelmed by the incredible mods people will be making. I am sure we will see some very epic storytellers making some that might double the length of the game! (Goodbye summer vacation!)

The most interesting mod I've played is the addition of the vivec arena thingy...
Was fun to actually fight some worthy opponents(even if Goliath WAS a... wood... elf... ffs)
The expansion to the stronghold was a good start, but as the maker said, this was just a test he wanted to throw out there, and he was intending on making more...
TBH xaoxin, I doubt many mods will come out that will totally add a huge amount of content to the game. There are a few mods in the making (Ultima Underworld... bless you) that look like big un's... but we'll see eh?

Something that would be very nice for a stronghold expansion could be some kind of steward. Someone that could help you expand your business - just take the abandoned ebony mine very close to the Odai plateau... You really ought to be able to take control of that one. And furthermore it should be possible to recruit more than just ONE guard. A whole regiment of uniformly equipped guards would be a hit! And you should - for a price - be able to choose the gear yourself... Because any stronghold needs a smith right?
A library wouldn't be the worst idea either - and a vault with a chest that would load the income you get from your business and have a lot of room for storing nice goodies...
I think it could be rather cool.

What I would like to see is a mod that changes yourmax stats from 100 to something much higher, maybe even thousand. That's more fun than getting this super powerful weapon, cause then you practically never stop getting stronger and better no matter how long you play

I went ahead and made a mod. Just one that adds a small house in teh Balmora's Mages Guild. If you want it, lemme know. It's nothing special, but I did include a big space for just putting stuff down.
