I am going to buy a new laptop. I do not know which is good for doing business. Dell? or IBM?
Also, how can I track my daughter's activities through her IP address when I am far away from her?

1) This is the wrong forum for such questions, this should be in the (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=81) technical forum.
2) IBM don't make laptops anymore - Lenovo now own their laptop devision.
3) Your daughter will hate you. You should teach her to use the computer and the internet appropriately, rather than spying on her.
Overall, though, I like IBM laptops. I only have a T43, the last model they made before the laptop division was sold to Lenovo, but from what I've read the Lenovo models are meant to be more-or-less the same quality. They have very good keyboards, which is something you'll want if you intend to do a lot of typing on it.

I've had a Fujitsu-Siemens laptop for about 3 years now. It's been around Europe a bit, hauled in and out of my car and run for 8 hours+ most days and it's never let me down with the exception of a noisy CPU fan which was replaced.
And what NV said. Don't spy on people, you get found out and she'll never forgive you.

I don't care for Dells at all; they always seem to have more problems than any other computers I've had people ask me for help with. I'm very happy with my Toshiba; I know you didn't ask about them, but I wanted to put it out there for the record.
NV and Ulukai are right. Teach her about the internet and don't spy on her. Trust is one of the most important parts of any relationship.

uh-huh, trust a teenager.
I don't know names of any remote IP monitoring software, though I have no doubt such software exists. You could log on your daugher's PC using remote desktop(you will probably need to set it up at her PC first), but that's about as subtle as standing behind her and looking over her shoulder. You could do it when you're sure she's not using the PC though, and it's still on. Like when she's in school or whatever. Then it's as easy as checking the browsing history.

Do yourself and your daughter a favour and ignore Koki, he's the forum troll and generally a terrible person.
Don't be an asshole parent. Cut your daughter a little slack. Spying on her is wrong and it makes you a bad parent.

In contrast with dethtoll here, who's only one of those things.

I take offense to that. I'm not a troll.
