My Telvanni tower does appeal to me much more though, I feel like Saruman, practicing my arcane arts at the top of my tower far away from prying eyes (great view from up there to)
I had to go to the Telvanni tower on a mission. I was kind of put off by the architecture there. Its like Chutes and Ladders. You need to levitate to get to the highest point, which has a great view. I'm glad that I don't live there though. I'm the Grandmaster of House Hlaalu now, btw. I haven't seen any extra profits coming my way.

Actually, scratch my first post. I started a new character because I couldn't justify killing an innocent person to acquire her home. Instead, I've chosen to "appropriate" the Suran Slave Market house in Suran - complete with traders all around - and a strip joint! And as soon as my security and lockpicking skills get up to par, I'm releasing the prisoners.

Like many in the Thieves' Guild, I got curious after giving Sugar-Lips the key to the Nevano house in Balmora. Wanted to find out what the great big deal was. Well, she was on to something. What a swank pad. I walked in, took one look around, and bought it on the spot.
Please note: by "bought" I mean "taunted Nevano into attacking me and then skewered him like a shish kebob."
It's really the only vicious thing, the only unprovoked violence that I've done in the game thus far. And strangely, I do feel bad about it.
Doesn't mean I'm giving the house back, though. After some thought, I think that Balmora offers the best locale for a headquarters. Silt Strider, Guild Guide, and it's a lot less load time than Vivcc. I'm a big-city boy, and I loves me some Vivcc, but sweet fancy Moses. My poor little machine is struggling to keep up with Morrowind as it is. Vivcc just about crashes it every time.

My home is in Caldera. I like that little town. I live in a small home that sits behind all the buildings (Surane Leoriane's home I think) Its has a lot of storage and it is nicly located a stone throw away from the manor with the Creeper in it and then shortly down the block is a guild guide. To get to my mine however I just have to transport then walk a distance. (Not sure if anyone else tried this, but the mine I found was pitch back, so I went and stole every candle, lateren , any thing that gave off light. Then I filled my mine with them and now its nice and light in there :) )

Well before the Redoran Stronghold (I'm thinking of editing it and putting a mage traveler in there since the place is in the bloody middle of nowhere, at least hlallu's is close to balmora :p) I was using the house of an Orc I killed in Balmora, and also the Fighters guild leader room in Vivec. The nice thing about the redoran stronghold is the shelves, I finally have room for my rougly 80 books I've gotten and kept :p

I built myself a nice little tower on the island in the river just south of Balmora. Nice spot, great sunsets. Nice view of the city... Of course being a tower I'm a bit limited for space... Have the top floor set up as my bedoorm/library. 3rd floor is my alchemy lab, 2nd floor is the armory. Have my own slave girl waiting by the door on the ground floor to greet me when I come home after a hard night of breaking and entering. :thumb:
I'm going to be doing a little redecorating soon though. At the moment all I have to sleep on is a bedroll, because that's all that would fit on the top floor of a tower... I just found out that you can change the size of an object in the editor... I seem to recall that one of the beds was just a tad to big to fit... also plan on adding some rugs, those stone floors are a real shock to my bare feet when I wake up in the morning.
I say that all that running around killing things and dragging their treasure all the way back to town is far too much work. Let someone else do it. Then I'll break into their house while there napping after all that work, slit their throat and rob them blind... :ebil:
Evil is its own reward.

I live in the Morag Tong dungeon under Vivec. After honorably disposing of the Morag Tong Grand Master to assume his robe, I have claimed his modest office space and redecorated it with my collection of Daedric nick-nacks. A lot of candles, a few ash statues, and a couple of vampire lord amulets do so much to liven up a place. :)
By the way, I never use the front door because the Inoril guards still feel the need to slay me on sight after wearing their beloved armor - I just teleport in and out.
I do have the Hlaalu stronghold complete, but I found it to be a disappointment.

I built my self a two-section pod house just outside of Vivec with the editor, 'tis quite fun... I just put furnature to start, then placed my own items around the house... and yeah, I know what it feels like to have stuff nobody can buy... I have like 8 full grand gems, a Glass Claymore, a Glass Longsword, and three Daedric Daggers, all worth over 10 000... poor creeper is the richest shopkeeper I've found, and he certainly can't afford that kind of stuff.
