I saw a press release in february '98 about Warren Spector making a futuristic RPG/FPS using the Unreal engine. Followed its development ever since. Oddly though, I'm barely following the development of the sequel (outside of PC Gamer mag). Stupid school gets in the way.

I found out once my older friend told me about it. I got even more excited once I found out it was somewhat like System Shock 2, which was one of the best games ever! However, it was only until this past Christmas that I got a copy, bundled with the CGW January issue(and along with Thief II, is the ONLY reason I put that issue on my list)!
I'm sorry if you don't like me bumping this topic, but I feel that if I stay on the subject, I should be fine. That, and it's not 2 years old(trust me, I've seen a bump THAT big once).

TTLG's SS2 page, then on (
http://forums.dumpshock.com) the Shadowrun forum, in a thread discussing Shadowrun-like computer games. Got it about a year later when a friend of mine bought a SoundBlaster Live 5.1 (?), got DX as a bonus and had no time to play it - so he gave it to me, and I fell in love with it almost immidiately.

I was rather late getting into the gaming scene because my computer sucked. Well, I finally got a good computer and some games like UT and Counterstrike. Then I started talking to people, and they were appalled when I hadn't played Deus Ex. So I got it, and loved it.

PC Gamer US. Got it when a friend bought a new video card with it bundled and had absolutely no interest in it and let me have it. I really should thank him more often.

Weird one this; I was on holiday in Canada and it was my birthday, and I saw this in a games store. My brother said it got a good review, so it was either that or Star Trek: Conquest or something (the one with Q on the cover). How little I did know...

I first played it on the ps2, thought id wasted my money, by the time got past liberty island i was engrossed.when I got to Hong Kong and realised the effort involved to create this game was comendibe to say the least. By Paris I had a new favourite game of all time.
I now have the pc version, I like tha differences, especially when hackin or using a keypad lock;only adds to the realism.
I would have DX:IW by now but im MX... I fuckin hate this card.
Long live :cool:Warren Specter:cool:

Of course, there was this GUY, that freaking always pronounces things wrong. "G....E...Force" or "Do-Sex" I hated that guy.
That guy is still there. I was sitting in the store browsing and EBtv did a feature on Doo-Sex Invisible War. He's gotta be shot.
As for myself, I originally picked up demo level #1 and played with it a little. It was interesting, but it didn't run too well on my machine, so I passed it up for a few months. At that point, I'd downloaded demo level #1 and #2 to a friend's machine and the awesome expanse and variability of level #2 sold me on the game. I'd been a Shocker for a long time, so of course I knew TTLG was covering it.
