I'm in Paris and I can't find the building where the out-of-town arms smuggler lives. I've searched the entire area for building 11. The woman in building 12 said it was next door (obviously!) but I still couldn't find it! Help!

AFAIK you have to go up a staircase between to other buildings. But that might be wrong. Search (
www.deusex-machina.com) for maps - I'm sure you'll find there what you're searching.

Go around to where the backpacker's hostel is. If you look at the row of buildings that connect to it, you'll see a narrow staircase leading up to a door - that door gives access to the weapons dealer's apartment.
Oh, it's also the house directly above the music store.

The staircase takes me to #12 (where the weird couple lives). The woman (O) tells me that it's next door, but the only other door that I found was the door to the veranda upstairs.
EDIT: Found it! I didn't see the other staircase. :o

kinda funny that you can walk in the house of people who are still inside the house, take their wine and break their jars, and everything's fine, though.

Yeah, that's funny. I think they should make people act more real in such situations - let them call the police, start a conversation, run away, walk to the back room for the shotgun, ... :cheeky:

/\ Yeah, the AI need some heavy improvement in DX2.
I had trouble finding building 11 as well, it was well hidden but I managed to find it after.. err.. 2 hours of searching.

Actually, the guy does turn on you. I'm not sure what triggers it, I think it may have something to do with the conversation they're having. I stood around listening to how they were gonna move to America, and eventually, IFF identified the guy as a foe. Of course, he stands no chance against a Dragontooth-wielding JC. ;)

Rene's reaction was a good example of what some of the guards should be like. The NPC should first give verbal warnings which should escalate to a physical response. The same should happen to the guards at the Versalife armory. They keep warning you to leave or suffer the consequences, but nothing actually happens if you stay.
The trigger for Rene is if you don't leave when he asks you to. Just don't talk to him or stand too close to him.
