"Soup, soup
for tasty soup, soup
for spicy carrot and corriander
chili chowder!
Croutons, croutons:
crunchy friends in a liquid broth;
I am gazpachio-uh!
I am a summer soup--Mmmm!
MISO, MISO,
fighting in the dojo--
MISO, MISO,
oriental Prince in the land of soup...":D

Also: I just watched
Little Miss Sunshine again, and even on second watching I had tears streaming out my eyes I was laughing so much. In fact maybe it was even better the second time.
The Science of Sleep is funny as well as beautifully inventive!
Loved
Shaun of the Dead and
Sideways (for different reasons, obviously).
Thank You for Smoking was witty and dark; the MOD meetings: genius!
Then a few weeks back I watched
La Doublure (The Valet) which was, well, not such a great story maybe, but still quite funny.
Even
Blades of Glory had a few funny moments. (I know, I know, it's a stupid movie--to my defense I saw it in the local "Dollar Movies.") Still, The Peacock? What a move!
There are plenty of funny movies out there, you just have to look. Or sometimes, you just have to be in the right mood, and
allow the movie to amuse you, if that makes sense.

<snip> The Micallef Program was an Australian comedy that had its share of decent moments, mainly sketches. <snip>
Good point - I had forgotten about him! Shaun Micallef is a Comic God (IMHO) and should be on TV a lot more. Someone else mentioned 'Chaser's War' - that's not bad either. I don't always like political humour, but at least they're usually 'socially active' - how many other comedy troops (pun intended) make the 6 o'clock news? In Tasmania, of all places? (!)
Just curious - has anybody else heard of Derek & Clives?

Just watched the first episode, wow, some seriously funny shit!! :cheeky: Thanks for the tip :D
Glad to help! If you can find the Mighty Boosh Radio Series (made before the TV show, I think), you can hear different versions of some of the TV show scripts. It's even kookier!
(Errr...If you get the chance to see the Mighty Boosh epsiode 'The Legend Of Old Gregg' - be aware it deals with themes that make many people uncomfortable.)
If you've seen (or even grew up with) the 70's Hanna-Barbara range of cartoons (Ricochet Rabbit, Grape Ape, Jetsons, Flintstones and so on) you might get a kick out of 'Harvey Birdman'.
Note to self: Don't snip the stuff in square brackets when replying to post...

Yeah good call, I have been watching a lot of Adult Swim recently, both that and Aqua Teen Hunger Force are brilliant

Or "The Mitchell and Webb look". Actually, pretty much anything with
Robert Webb in it is guaranteed not to be funny.
Fixed.
David Mitchell is God.

"The Legend Of Old Gregg", is that like a banned episode or what? This show is ace, I've almost finished first season :thumb:
Cool, gotta check out Harvey Birdman too then.

Its an oldie (a real oldie infact) but I just watched 'His Girl Friday' tonight. The funniest movie I've seen in a long time. I was worried that because its old (1940's I think) that the humor wouldn't translate but it did. Cary Grant is my new hero.
Ofcourse this doesn't address the OP question but hey there is alot of 'new' comedy that is simply stuff you haven't seen yet. I've been discovering old films and its going to be keeping me busy for years to come I think.

I don't give a fuck about where this thread is at this stage, I just want to say that La Doblure (The Valet) is the funniest shit I've seen in ages... apparently Hors De Prix (Priceless) is just as good.
