So I Ithought I'd play Morrowind again with the INSANELY AWESOME (
http://timeslip.chorrol.com/mge.html) graphics extender thingy I recently found out about (why o why isn't there a thread about this here?), so I'm re-downloading all my favourite mods. Alas, Rhedd's homepage is down, and google doesn't seem to help either :(
Can anyone help me?
EDIT: Nevermind found a backup on a cd. If anyone wants them, I'll be happy to put them on rapidshare or the like.

Because you're using windows vista. If possible, replace it with an operating system that actually works.

I have them backed up too. Though I see you don't need them.
What mods did you play? I never played without a few of Wakim's Game Improvements, NPC Replace 3.0 by Motoki (3 is good, the rest suck), Rhedd's, and this companion mod that added a norn named Hilda in the Balmora FG, and also this one that stopped the DB from attacking you until you were someone important.
Usually I'd put together my own little things like a portable bedroll, and a mod that shuts the npcs up about frostmoth once you've been there, and a few things to tweak, for instance, Hilda's appearance. Can't forget a house. I liked making little flats. On several occasions I threw together a condominiums mod. This Khajit sold bargain rate (5 - 15k ) condos in the Vivec FQ underworks. The best part of that game, I think, was the toolset.

Well, this is the first time I'm trying to play a character other than a bosmer thief.
This time I decided to play a custom warrior-type female Nord, greatly inspired by the fact that I've been playing a lot of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth on my psp lately ;).
For a better effect, I took upon my first Morrowind texturing exploit, turning the open helmet from the Knights of Tamriel Kynareth armor (itself a winged remake of the dragonscale helmet) to something that resembles Lenneth's sallet:

Other than that, I'm playing HEAPS of mods; the aforementioned NPC Replace 3.0, some balancing ones, roleplaying stuff, a few graphical and sound improvements, added items/clothes/weapons/armor and some thief-related stuff I forgot to turn off, which I suspect will make the game considerably harder for a non-thief character since they buff locks and traps... Not to mention one of the mods restricts guild services to members, making it more difficult to get lockpicks/probes and opening spells since for some reason neither the thieves guild nor the mages guild are willing to recruit me. I've already had problems getting that damn dwemer puzzle box. :laff:
But it's fun. :thumb:

Heh. This topic inspired me to install morrowind last night. Not any of the expansions yet, though. I want to try and get most of the way through Morrowind before adding disbalancing DB armor, and that damn frostmoth rumor business.
I tried to keep my mod's as minimal as possible, so I only on one or two of the officials, Rhedd's Heads, the three Don Salus facepacks, the MGE ( and zooming, thief-style bows), and better bodies. Anything else I need I'm going to make myself, as a campaign to force myself into getting reacquainted with the editor. As my character grows in strength, I'll add more stuff (like the inn you can invest in between pelagiad and balmora). I wish I could find an old version of the bank mod. It was perfect before they started adding houses and stuff.
I've never really gotten into strict roleplaying. I play just like how I would make decisions in the gameworld, so I usually end up with a competent sneaky warrior, handy with a bow, and preferring a one handed sword with a claymore "just in case".
Your helm is really cool, by the way.
Edit:
This is a good site for some stealth, and general tweaks mods if you scroll down a bit.
Maybe the ones you have - by Ldones ?

Thanks about the helm :). It's still pretty much WIP, I only did the front part and a crude recolor of the main part. I think I'll try to remove the main and back parts altogether and merge the front part and the wings with my character's hair. But if I do that, might as well try and recreate Lenneth's sallet faithfully. Time will tell.
Yup, I'm using LDones mods, as well as light-based sneaking. I also remember a mod that let you snuff some of the lights, Thief: DS style, but I can't seem to find it now.
One more mod I'd recommend: If you like your character to look "dark", Carnithus' Armamentarium is all kinds of awesome.
EDIT: Oh, forgot about a little gem I recently discovered: Morrowind Cities Unlocked and Morrowind Bandits Unlocked - they add a key to most of the locks in the game. Adds some realism, though could sometimes be too easy, as the keys frequently lay in the open. Sometimes it's quite clever though, it was joy when I found a key while accidentaly taking someone's pillow :). Kind of balances the lockpicking difficulties.

I tend to favor looking practical perhaps with a slight inclination to barbaric.
Even though I make houses and so on, it always feels as if my characters are most comfortable in the field, so I guess naturally I like them to look like they spend most of the time out, overland.
I'm not a huge fan of being or looking dark, all that "angsty red" and angel wings silliness seems juvenille to me. Nonetheless, for what parts of the screenshots I didn't like, I found sufficient other things to pique my interest. I'll have a look when I install Trib. I'll also have a look at the lock mods; I had read about them a few times, and the descriptions seemed to imply everyone would just walk around with their keys, which isn't so interesting to me. I would rather pick locks than pockets simply because it's typically more discreet. Laying and hidden around sounds like it would be much cooler.
I'll reconsider adding light based sneaking too, I always liked that one but never capitalised it often, and for this round, I tried to keep my installation very spartan. But, there are so many "indispensables" that, today, my installation became quite bloated as I ran around online discovering them.
I've also been programming myself little toys. Today I managed to put together an extremely simple portable bedroll mod, a marvelous little additions I hadn't known I needed until after I tried it out. I'll pass it to you if you like. I also have been working on practice locks, but there are still some bugs to iron out.

Juvenile silliness... I guess I'm guilty of that a bit. :o :laff:
Anyway, I just wanted my thief characters to look, well, Thief-y, black clothes, a hood (mephisto's cloak collection) etc. As for the wings, I'm actually considering them for Lenneth.
Also, I tend to roleplay even when there's no reason, so for example I usually take off my armor while in towns (preferably stashing it in a house if I have one in that town). I even have complete sets of clothes I wear on different occasions. Uhmm, yeah. This time, I installed some of the realism mods, so it doesn't feel redundant carrying around food ;).
As for the keys, sometimes it feels wrong, or too easy, I wouldn't use them with a thief character but as I said, on this playthrough it helps me balance things out.
Liking the idea of a portable bedroll, I've also seen portable tents :thumb:

Some of the realism mods, Balor's essential needs (or something like that) for example, usually already have the portable bedrolls. While I enjoy cooking, and the sense of necessity, I would prefer it all to be optional. That way when I'm, for instance, days lost in a dwemer ruin, I don't die of a navigation failure.
on roleplaying: Usually, I have a robe to put over my armor to "conceal" the fact that my character has armor to make the right impression, or if I am going to be in town for an extended stay, I'll strip down to clothes (and I carry 1 - 2 changes just in case :P). Some days I even dedicate to my character's leisure; like shopping trips to vivec.
If I'm going to be gladhanding, emissarying (thats not a word, but ought be), or generally diplomatic, I'll change into a specially fine outfit.
Some characters tend to carry around the occasional chotchke or charm.I had a character who carried around flower blossoms, gold kanet, heather, and a blue something for purely superstitious reasons I never quite articulated. ;)
The immersion of morrowind is incredibly impressive, and only made better by having the editor.
Edit:
Hey, where did you get Mephisto's cloak mod?
Edit:
Nevermind, I got it.
