I was looking for the Absorb Health spell to enchant my shiny new Daedric Katana with (as soon as I find a Grand Soul Gem to combine with my summon Golen Saint), but I can't find anyone who has it to buy. Does anyone know where I can find it/who I can buy it from?
Also, is there anywhere remotely near Balmora or Suran (or any easily accessible town/city) where I can find an empty Grand Soul Gem?
Thanks in advance for any help :).

Re: Absorb Health, there's two:
Aunius Autrus, in Sadrith Mora, Wolverine Hall: Imperial Cult
Felara Andrethi, Tel Aruhn, Tower Living Quarters
Re: the grand soul gems, search on here for "azura's star".

Shit, is constant effect Absorb Health supposed to take up 40 enchantment points even with all settings at 0? How did any of you make decent constant-effect weapons if the effects all cost twice as much as the max enchant points? (on a Daedric sword).
Any suggestions? :(

Constant Effect enchantments will affect YOU, not your opponent. Do a Cast on Strike enchantment instead and you will find that it works much better (also keep the range at touch).

I thought that was what "Constant Effect" did. (and you can make "Constant effect, cast on target when strikes", can't you?)

You can make a weapon that doesn't run out of charges, the magic just won't do anything to your opponent (directly at least). If you want a weapon that absorbs health you will have to choose Cast When Strikes which will run low on charges and preferably Touch(melee) range since it's cheaper than Target(ranged) and you won't gain anything by picking Target since you are already in melee with your opponent when you hit it.
You can only pick one of Constant Effect, Cast When Used, Cast When Strikes and Cast Once (all are limited in which items they can be put onto).

I was under the impression that you could make a Absorb Health sword that would never run out of charge. Back to running out all the time I guess :(. At least I can make a constant-effect restore fatigue ring or something :).
Edit: Also, one more question: Does the amount of enchantment points you use up have an effect on how much charge an enchanted weapon uses per attack? For example if I only use 9/18 enchantment points instead of 18/18, will my sword be "cheaper" to use (in terms of how much magicka used per attack)?

Yes, also higher Enchant skill will lower the charge useage. Try looking at the charge cost when you enchant something and see how much effect you gain for how many charges. The game uses fractional charges but it won't display whether it's 3.9 or 4.5 charges that will be spent, both will be displayed as 4.
