You know Tels, there is a edit option.
For what? The inventory? Arx? The forum? <I>*confused*</I>

Making use of a graphics API like DirectX's DirectDraw (like Arx does): drawing an item rotated actually requires about the same amount of code as a routine that chooses between two pics.
In fact, it is more effecient to rotate 1 pic since it'll require less memory.

Moin,
the only problem is to code that an item can have more than one layout in the inv.
But I think that there are probably more important things like speed and/or stability and actual bugs (freh fish => cook => still fresh fish, or "using" a fern that you powedered results in the fern vanishing)
Cheers,
Tels

A cooked fish can still be fresh. Fresh means that it's been caught recently.

wild guess:
the origin of the fish object, or it's pivot -if you like-, is used to determine the fish being inside or outside the fire. If the origin of the fish is in the center of the body, it's possible to place the head of the fish in the fire without the fish being cooked.
possible fixes (if wild guess is accurate):
pretty realistic but more complex: use bounding box.
also pretty realistic ('cos of heat radiation) and really easy: extend the fires cooking range!
*probably some kind of bi-metal strip mechanically triggering a hatch releasing an army of nano-bots. :nono: :D

What he meant was that even if you cook the fish it's still called fresh fish.

Oops... sorry.
I automatically assumed Tels was talking about the same problems I encountered trying to cook up a decent meal for our everhungry friend.
Glorofin on 16/3/2002 at 13:12
I've never encounter that kind of problem. My fishes allways float above the fire but still get cooked.

"In fact, it is more effecient to rotate 1 pic since it'll require less memory."
I think that is what my point was... it would not take alot of time or effort to do. Thus is should be added... *shrugs and smiles*
