I'm obviousy being totally dumb but there are loads of textures in peoples screenshots I don't have/can't find. In fact I have very, very, very few textures.
Where are they all?

On my machine...
C:\Program Files\Thief - Deadly Shadows\CONTENT\T3\Textures
(They're in Direct Draw Surface Format)

Are you sure you've loaded all MatLibs in the texture browser? They are arranged into different categories.

When you click on the texture browser button (looks like a painting of a landscape on the toolbar) it should open up another window where the current textures open are shown, or you can go to File > Import MatLib (not to be confused with the standard Open...option) and the one called T3_gen.mlb is supposedly the most common one. But you can Import ALL MatLibs and browse through everything by selecting each category on the dropdown menu that starts off with AICore.
If you can't see a dialog box with textures showing in it, look around and see if it's minimized or near/off the edge of the screen.

Something I found is that when you export a matLib from Max, at runtime the game looks for the textures in the PCTextures folder. I had some textures that would display in the editor, but when I ran the game they wouldn't show. I copied them into the PCTextures folder, and they worked.
EDIT: I guess this doesn't exactly pertain to the issue at hand, but might still help someone.

is it right that i have to import all the textures every time i open the editor? it takes like 15 seconds each time and is kind of annoying.

You only need to import the Matlibs you wish to use, much like only importing the families you wish to use in DromEd.

Fantastic. I just started with the editor last night and I'm a REAL noob at it. I was wondering where the textures were. I saw the few like ladders and hud stuff, but I couldn't find any others. I'll have to try importing the mlb file tonight.

Ah yes, now I see them. After an "import all" attempt, I now see LOTS of textures for walls and ceilings and other things.
One question. What are all the "arrows" fonts? And the one that is a big red "X" with the words Bad Size on it?
Seeing those faces flattened out is creepy.

Are matlibs the same as a 3dsmax matlib?
Is that how the textures are handled, in 3dsmax format?
