Does anybody know why it's down?

Changing servers.

The DNS has been updated as far as I know, so it should propogate around the web soon.
garretts_shadow on 25/5/2004 at 04:33
Uhh... mine's still not showing up... "cannot find server" and "this page cannot be displayed" still shows up...
I really hope this gets fixed soon...

The Circle loads fine for me. There's nothing that needs to be fixed, it's just a matter of waiting.

What is going on at the circle? I cannot get there. Whats all this about DSN propagation?
David on 25/5/2004 at 14:50
When you move a website to a different server the IP address is very likely to change.
The servers that translate the address into the IP address are called Domain Name Servers. Periodically they update their databases with new sites, ones that are old etc. This is usually once a day or so.
All that has happened is that the DNS server your ISP uses has not caught up with most of the world and still has the old IP listed. Until it catches up you will not be able to access TheCircle.

Or until someone is kind enough to tell the new IP numbers ... erm, what's thief: the circle - ah, never mind.

TheCircle shares its IP with the rest of the network, so you are unable to access it via IP.
