Donno if anybody here has played Final Fantasy X but i always thought the music in Battery Park sounded similar to the music in FFX's Mt.Gagazet.
Haven't had the chance to listen to them at the same time but i've played them both enough to notice the similarity.

I think the only reason why I was able to get into the game initially was because of this games soundtrack. The first level didn't really 'get me going' in terms of gameplay but what made me press on was it's really interesting soundtrack. That and Chade kept on telling me it was one of the best games ever - and after completing it I have to agree. But more onto topic.
It's one of the few soundtracks that have actually suited properly to a sci-fi setting. Normally you either get the pseudo John Williams style of soundtrack or just overdone techno. However this soundtrack suits it perfectly and themes the situations really well - making them rememorable. I don't know about anyone else but if a game or a situation in that game has a good soundtrack playing in it then i'm more likely to enjoy that part and remember it. Probably because i'm a composer so I notice game soundtracks more than perhaps others do.
Unatco's theme rules, Return to Unatco is also brilliant. The Paris music is excellent also - I just wished they used more of the piano in them but nevertheless ruled. Chateau Du Clare is probably my all-round favourite for it's excellent use of Piano and string - even if it sounds a bit 'MIDI.' Funnily enough Chateau Du Clare is also one of my favourite parts in Deus Ex.

Hmm...does the TTLG jukebox have the soundtrack?
There's a plugin for WinAmp that plays the music files directly. Although it's a bit flaky on displaying titles correctly, so I used a utility that converts them to a standard MOD tracker format.

Does anyone know where I could download the plug in for WinAmp from a non-fileplanet host?

uh, (
www.winamp.com?)
And, since I think no one's mentioned it, I really liked the Naval shipyard music. Calm, slightly unsettling.

 Maybe it would've been easier to point out tunes that weren't so great, seems I'm not the only one who loves virtually all the music in game.
I loved the way the music changes depending in the situation, but when it's a bit buggered up, it gets annoying as hell. I'm not sure if this was supposed to happen or not, but
in Hong Kong, when I was getting the virus schematics from the computer not far from the Universal Constructor, the regular 'all's well' music would constantly be interrupted by the 'you're being attacked' music.
The first time I was there I was freaking out because I had no idea where the enemy was, but now, I'm virtually positive that there's no enemies anywhere in that area aside from the
MJ12 commando and the scientist who trips the alarm if she gets excited. And two docile robots, which can't see me when I'm on the catwalks in the room with the UC :weird:
Well here is the answer to your Q night terror:
where you enter the code to destroy the UC, there are spider bots that emerge from the 2 openings behind where u enter the code. For some reason the bots can see you through the walls, way up where the scientist gets alerted and pulls the alarm, thats why you hear the "your being attacked music" from way up there.wonder why Eidos didnt bother fixing that one error . lol :cheeky: :laff:
TheNightTerror on 11/2/2005 at 09:40
Ah ha, I see. :thumb: Yeah, you think they could've fixed that bug, but nooo. Seems like walls don't mean much in this game, you can even see lights through concrete walls if a light's placed close enough to it. :p

rofl, yeah no kidding, thats like the ONLY error that bugs me. I still think Deus Ex is the best PC game. I sooo want the writers audigraph! pure genius!
